I had a weird dream where I bought a Moto 360 and the silver "metal" was flaking away to reveal... wood. :v:
I don't know sometimes.
A friend once dreamed he unscrewed a fuel cap on his monitor, picked it up and started drinking printer toner out of it. Then he died
Dreams are hilarious
Wouldn't that require root? And/or unlocked boot loader?
Yes, but remember that rooting does NOT violate your quarantee. So youre safe anyway. Unless you fry your CPU by overclocking, then nothing helps.
Unlocking bootloader wipes device, but installing another ROM too, sooo...

I once dreamed I worked for the Asian Silk Road. Then some Russian shopkeep started yelling at me because I fucked up. I woke up legitimately scared.
I also wondered at what fucking point did the Asian Silk Road become relevant. I hadn't thought about that since elementary school 10 years ago.
motorola says they got more stock of moto 360s on their store but they don't ship until october 6th
come on really?

I'm pretty sure it does unless the warranty for the 1+1 allows rooting/unlocking bootloader.

oneplus actively encourage switching roms, there is a whole section on their forums for it.
Has anyone here switched from Apple to Android recently and have any tips? I have an iPhone 5 but next upgrade want to try jumping to Android.

do not buy anything from samsung
Why is specifically Samsung bad? What would be the best manufacturer to buy from? I heard Nexus phones are the only ones that get immediate updates.
Because Samsung loves to put their own, shitty UI over the android UI. That, and their phones aren't that good quality, especially not for the price, and they're quite slow with the updates. Nexus phones are the first, usually quickly followed by LG and motorola (not a lot of skinning for them to do, since they run almost the stock Android UI)
Another question, how would it work if I bought an unlocked phone like the OnePlus One while i'm on contract at ATT for my iPhone? Could I switch the service to the new phone or something?
I'm mostly into computer building and i'm just now looking into all the smartphone options so I am not too up to speed with how it works.
Although it should be noted that if you're on Verizon you're basically screwed with whatever Android device you have. As far as I know, Verizon gets the Android update from the phone manufacturer and then spends several months putting their own crap in it and disabling stuff. I don't think any Android device is exempt from that. I know any iDevice will get the update as soon as it's available, however. I think Microsoft is trying to do that too.

it doesn't mean it won't break the warranty
I don't get all the samsung hate. They have flagship specs, removable battery's, sd slots, and I have experienced no slowdowns. I don't have a problem with plastics, but I understand how some people might not find it as "premium." The only thing physical I have a problem with is the battery life, but that's partially my fault. Touchwiz isn't the good, and loading roms on them suck though. But I personally find sense on my mom's first gen htc one worse.
So I noticed that my Moto 360 has a good deal of dead pixels now and decided to return it. Queue calling up Motorola only to have someone that I can barely fucking understand answer the phone and then tell me that I will get a call in the next 24 hours about information on how to return my device. When a company has such shit customer service I'm definitely not going to buy another device directly from them. Fuck that.

I have an S3 now and want the S5 when time to upgrade.. but all this hate. What does LG offer for a good competitor? The M8?

The M8 is made by HTC.
I have the S4 Active now and I cannot stand how locked down it is.
The M8 is great from what I've heard, the LG G2 and G3 are both good too.

All three are very good phones. I would have gotten a G3, but it wasn't released yet when my GNex burned itself up and I wanted an SD card slot. So M8 it was. Its very solid for the most part. The weakest thing is the camera, and for the most part its due to its low MP count. Low light performance is fantastic (for a phone) though. Android performance all around is brilliant and smooth.

ohp. my bad.
Time to research
Yeah I mean it's pretty locked down. Definitely wasn't quite the right phone for me personally, but I don't get all the hate it gets.
Today's college school day Nexus 5 battery usage stat.

I more or less come home to that low battery every school day now.

They used to be really good in the past, especially when the S1 came out but after that they really started to flake on quality for the S3 and S4.
For example, my S4 has a hairline crack across the screen, the back panel has a crack along the bottom and the paint is chipping off all over. My S1 however is still pretty mint with no visible damage even though it is much older.

remove SIM from iPhone
either:
a. insert directly into 1+1
b. go to ATT store and say "new SIM pls"

Yeah I think my phones is a nanosim and One's take microsims so i'd have to go get a new one from them. Do you guys think a OnePlus One would be a nice upgrade from an iPhone 5 or should I just wait until my upgrade date some time next year and get another phone? Idk if cyanogenmod as my first android experience is wise but i'm sure I can handle it.
I'm kind of interested to see the successor to HTC's One M8.
android L has me itching not only for, well, android L but for a new phone. my contract with AT&T expires in april and i have an HTC One M7 im lookin to replace, primarily because the camera is fucked on it and my most used app ever is snapchat so im tired of everything being fucking purple
every day im just googling "android L" and "new nexus phone" waiting to see if google is going to announce a new nexus so i can compare that to the m8 and the oneplus and make a decision. wish theyd hurry up already ugh
So is the OneplusOne the be-all end-all of Android Phones right now?
So is the OneplusOne the be-all end-all of Android Phones right now?
I personally will not patronize Oneplus simply because they suck at PR
Specs wise, bang for your buck it's probably the best

In the larger screen department. I think the size is the most polarising thing about it
