Talked to friend, he's giving me his old Moto G until the replacement Nexus comes
Goodbye Wildfire (Again)
I got one more 1+1 invite. Apparently whoever grabbed the last one didn't even buy the phone, so I'll give this one to the first person that PMs me.

aaand it's gone.
The Galaxy alpha looks okay. Looks like Samsung actually used something other than plastic.

Too bad it's a mid-range phone.
So a few people in my class say that the Nexus 5 is the perfect phone size (for them). Another classmate said that my Nexus 5 was a toy. She had an iPhone 5 or 5S. I pointed out that her phone was a toy as a comeback :v: Another guy got the Nexus 5 then returned it half an hour later to get an iPhone 5c. According to him, Android was too confusing and complex for him such that it's messy and annoying.
Is there a way to make notification alerts from my calendar do a long phone call ringtone instead of a short text noise? I miss alerts easily if they don't last until I turn them off.
Someone else's Photo taken with the 1+1, looking pretty good!

For anyone interested, YES it is possible to do this. You have to download a custom, lengthy noise and add it to your notifications media folder and select it for use in the calendar app.

Tonnes of grain but the colour and contrast is amazing especially since this scene would have been 'low light'
I never thought that Samsung would have a better build quality than Apple.

But the current Samsung devices will deteriorate over time. I've got a cracked back plate, paint falling off, letters missing and rim chipping all over my S4. My S1 however is still in amazing condition though. I doubt Apple will have problems with paint falling off and shit like Samsung devices do.
I couldn't care less about paint being rubbed off or other cosmetic issues, the phone being deformed by my pocket worries me much more.

I kinda prefer the grain to the blurry mess other phones have. They just have too much filtering.
Kay, so I have a Nexus 10
Haven't had a decent app on it that I've used in months, I use it only for watching lectures, watching porn, and spotify
Hit me, what are some cool games (No, I'm not googling it they're always the same recomenndations from 2012) and apps I should give a try

would have had much less grain had they been using the 25r OTA

OpenTTD and Civilization.

You'd get a better results with a grainy image, bringing it into photoshop or lightroom and fixing it yourself.
Jesus christ XDA has some hardcore white knights. I provided constructive criticism on a ROM update, the developer appreciates my critique, then the white knights jump in with the whole "DON'T LISTEN TO HIM BRO, HE SHOULD JUST GO BACK TO STOCK".
I think they might need a change in culture if they can't handle a different opinion or don't want feedback

I hate going to XDA, it's always filled with people who can't speak/spell english properly, and they think they know better than everyone else.
Used my phone exclusively for reading marvel comics for the past 3 days:

if i play GTA:SA on my oneplus one the screen gets so hot that it's unbearable. it also starts flexing around the top (especially the backplate is very flexible)
[editline]24th September 2014[/editline]
otherwise it doesn't really get too hot during regular use. but the fact that the heat goes towards the screen really bugs me

What phone are you using? That's some great screen life time.

Oneplus One (25r OTA)
So I bought that Oneplus One phone (RIP ZTE Blade), amazing deal there thanks for pointing it out, I saw that it required a MicroSim though and I have a Mini SIM, is it fairly easy to get SIM's cut down or should I get a new SIM all together?
new sims arent hard to get..
So not worth the bother of getting mine cut?
Hmm? Everywhere I've looked says Micro.
nvm, i was confused by the terminology
its whatever this is:

there is no harm in trying to cut it though.
I cut mine myself with scissors, used a reference sheet to see where to cut, and a nail file for smoothing it out. Not hard at all.
Did exactly the same. Used this template:

I just went into the store (in my case AT&T) and they gave me a new sim, took all of 15 minutes and was free of charge. Be sure to call support and make sure everything was properly activated. I had to call and get my data plan sorted out because I couldn't send MMS.
