So my y300 got it's screen broken. The problem is that i won't be able to buy a phone until maybe december. At least it's still fully functional, but just completely shattered.
Now I just need Hearthstone for Android :v:
What's the best music player for an Android phone, mine has only come with Google Music.

I like Google Music but I also use the All Access service. I have no complaints, however.

Poweramp is the best musicplayer there is, try the trial. Used ever since I got an Android phone (HTC Desire HD around 2010/2011)
After waiting 5 months, I finally got my nexus back from repair. I open it up, turn it on, and it deciders to not acknowledge the fact that any WiFi exits unless you are within 5cm of the router. Fun.
One of the WiFi antennae is located on the back cover and connects via small pins to the phone. The antenna should be a small black surface on the top right, and labelled BT/WIFI. Try taking the cover off, checking for any bent pins and reseating it.
Are there any apps that will automatically pull Twitter profile pictures for people and set that as their contact photo?
I assume there's a limitation there as you'd have to specify that contact's Twitter profile, which can change, or their e-mail, which users can't always search by.
Likewise, is there anything for Facebook? I'd prefer avoiding switching contacts apps but I don't know how possible this would be without doing that.

I second Poweramp. Well worth the money and is unparalleled in terms of features. I just wish they'd go for a material redesign.

There was haxsync for facebook but facebook kinda put a stop to that.

Looks great with kitkat theme from play store until then.

The Facebook app itself will provide contacts for you, which you can then join with your existing contacts.
And all at the low cost of 2% of your battery per minute.

9000 mAh Battery for it.

I wish it supported streaming from a Samba/SMB server. I've got tonnes of music on one of my shared Windows drives

There is probably something you can use. There was an app that required root that allowed you to stream your Google Play Music Library (and maybe All Access..?) using PowerAMP only.
I'm not sure right now if the Poweramp dev is mucking around doing nothing or working on some huge update. About a year ago he was talking about putting in a new audio engine that would be heaps better and more efficient but nothing has been released yet
Have you checked out the forums for recent development news?
shit just got real

Will it bend, that is the question
guess we will find out haha.
So gettng this. This is pretty much I was waiting for.
5.9 is really stretching it for a phablet. No chance of using that thing one handed, it's like a small tablet at that point
If they drop nexus 5 support, a lot of people will be upset
Depends on how wide it is. You cannot really write on a Note 1 with one hand, but you can on a Note 2, since it gained in height but reduced in width. Tested it out for a potential upgrade to my Note 1 and I consider my hands somewhat small.

nexus 4 still has support, probably not much longer though
So when I send a text to somebody they can see my profile picture but I can't seem to see anybody's picture who texts/phones me, is there something I have to do to get them to appear or do I have to manually do it for all my contacts?

It looks like a bigger GNexus. I really hope that's not how it's gonna look.

You have to set a profile picture for them in your contacts. I know G+ will do it automatically (you have to tell it that the John Smith G+ contact is the same as the John Smith phone contact), and apparently Facebook will too, but otherwise you'll just have to do it manually.
People actually install that [sp]botnet[/sp] application on their phone?
I remember talking to friends about how I never know where they are on campus
Me: "I should make some kind of app that automatically sends me your GPS data whenever I want"
Friend: "You know if you installed Facebook chat you could just do that with the location history"
Me: "Yes, but my way only invades your privacy"
so is next year's nexus 7 going to be a phone or a tablet
What if,
"We didn't think it'd be right to put a sim in this"
"Here is our limited VoIP service instead"
Doubt it would happen though, but it's possible
dammit now i don't want to replace my nexus 5, 5.9 is just too big.
i don't want to support oneplus because of shit-tier marketing/pr, but it looks like they might be my only option
