wait 1+1 doesn't have wireless charging welp there goes that one
Why is wireless charging important to you then? I've heard about it being not as fast as charging by cable is.
It's really damn convenient, and he probably already has a few Qi chargers he doesn't want to throw out.
taking 4 times longer to charge is hardly convenient.
I have a wireless charger and I never use it. Probably because it would cause too much heat when I'm running a wifi hotpost with it overnight. But it is pretty conveneient, I wouldn't care if it took longer overnight because I'd still wake up to a fully charged phone and it would be time saving not having to fiddle around with the damn cable when I'm still half asleep. I would have my wireless charger stationary so I don't have to grab the charger and cable from the drawer. Wired charging is faster and more efficient, less energy consumption and loss than wireless charging.
taking 4 times longer to charge is hardly convenient.
Honestly, I never found plugging in a cable being inconvenient. If that was the most inconvenient thing I did before going to bed, I would be a happy man.
What's the wireless charger range? I mean I never seen or used one, can the charger be 2 meters away from me and phone just lying on bed? Or is it literally just placing phone on top of charger and that counts as wireless charging? Unless wireless charging can be done with distance apart, I don't' see any point of it, well perhaps not damaging connector (I tend to put phone on charge on bed, then when I have to go somewhere in morning I just pull phone towards myself and charger comes out). Definitely waiting for Nexus X now.
It depends on the wireless charger but in general, it is a few millimeters off the charging pad. It's just slower and no cables required (from phone to charger). Kinda like WiFi. It's slower than using an Ethernet cable but more convenient.
I would only consider a wireless charger if it doubled as a NFC Beam send/receiver to my PC

I tend to swing my hands around during sleep though so it would suck if I accidentally knock it off and end up going to college with 0 battery :v:
It's really damn convenient, and he probably already has a few Qi chargers he doesn't want to throw out.
I've only got one for my phone and one for my moto 360, but it's really nice to just plop my phone and watch down and have them charge
wireless charging is rubbish. and will be until there's a faster standard than qi
I used Sync.ME to get my SMS contacts to sync with the Facebook profile pictures, worked fine.
Guys. GUYS. Guess what just arrived! [t]http://i.imgur.com/x8HwwvO.jpg[/t]
I've said it before but I'll say it again - wireless charging is a gimmick that only works in the real world when the device is charging overnight. It's slow, it heats up the device, and the device can't really be used while it's on the charger. I'd rather take the 3 seconds to plug in a USB and have the device charge much more quickly. Oh, and be able to actually use it while it's charging. Wireless charging is a fantastic proof of concept. It doesn't work in the real world.
Your new bedsheet?
He's obviously talking about the LED on the power strip. Those things always go bad.
He's obviously talking about the LED on the power strip. Those things always go bad.
It worked for last 7 years, I dunno...
So really only advantage of Wireless Charging is lesser phone wear?
So really only advantage of Wireless Charging is lesser phone wear?
depending on your view, convenience apparently i'm the only one that finds dropping it on my charger more convenient than plugging it in
The MicroUSB port on my phone broke so wireless charging is all I've got. The longer charge times don't really matter if your just leaving it there overnight anyway.
Not a fan of that bedsheet, should have gone for the white.
I just use it with my tablet to recharge at night.
That's quite literally the only use the technology has right now, charging something overnight or something that you don't need to use (and won't for several hours). It's a tiny bit more convenient at the cost of charge time and the ability to use the device while charging. No thanks.
Wireless charging is kind of inefficient because it takes in a 2A input and gives you a 1A output which is realistically 700mAh or so when it gets to your device. You are essentially wasting electricity through the transmission and heat in exchange for not worrying aboues being connected to the device. Also you can't really use many cases on your device when you're wireless charging.

i use wireless charging at my desk normally when im chilling here, cords are normally annoying when I pick up my tablet/phone for texting or homework stuff. so the wireless charging has its uses, at least for me
Pretty tempted to pick up a 2013 model Moto X, from playing around with a Nexus 5 I'm just not sure a 5" + screen is for me and there doesn't seem to be anything else that offers the "pure" android experience in that size. Anyone care to persuade me differently, I do love the look of this years Moto X.
I've just had a huge heart attack. Tried to flash L through fastboot, and it crashed on rebooting my smartphone. And then - black screen, and QHUSB_BULK in devices. I already trying to remember, where the hell is my Debian USB drive, and where I should ask for dd dump of nexus... In panic, I try to reboot by pressing Power + Volume Up... and it worked! System is not booting but at least I see Google Logo and access bootloader, which is very nice.
I think it was Starbucks or some other coffee shop or company that were going to install wireless charging pads built into the tables.
Got my first android phone (moto G 2014) and everything is well and good, but can anyone recommend a nice, clean music player. Right now I'm using the vlc one but apparently it's not that stable. I don't need no fancy big pictures like the google music player.

Maybe a tablet is a little bit better but it's still tied to being on the charger
