It's the regular international unlocked S3, pretty sure of that
[editline]30th May 2013[/editline]
better than a page stretching title :p
That fucking piece of bread.
But if it's the international S3, then I wouldn't use CM10. I had it on my Note II for a bit, and it just never ran as well as I had hoped because of the Exynos.
Go into the phone settings and double triple quadruple check the model number.
This, I have rooted my android phones so many times but I accidentally bricked my S3 4G by accidentally using a regular S3 root method & ROM and had to send it to get repaired ( And they didnt care that it was rooted and shit, yay me)
Yeah that's the international one.
You may as well wait till 4.2.2 TW drops; a leak of it is out already?
i so mad.

Lmao, Verge shopped it without a stock status bar AND used a 4.1 lockscreen picture :v:
Someone said I should use Titanium Backup before flashing a rom but I'm not rooted :v:
what do
You don't have to, just means you'll have to manually reinstall all your apps and hope the apps you use all sync their app data properly with google.

Yes because you had a problem with it on a different phone of all things it's shit :downs:
CM10.1 runs fine on my international S3.

It wasn't as problematic as it was slow compared to Touchwiz. Plus, the two share literally the same hardware, and are both manufactured by Samsung. In what right am I not allowed to express my experience?
HTC one with stock android officially announced for $599

You're suggesting he doesn't do something because you once some time ago on a different device (might share the same hardware, but it's a different rom so some bugs might be in it that aren't in others) had some problem with it. Not to mention it was an entirely different version you had issues with. You're allowed to express your experience, but your experience simply isn't valid in this case.

It was about 2 weeks ago. It was CM10.1. I figured it's universal and understandable since there wasn't a CM10 build for the Note II.
I was also suggesting that he should try out the 4.2.2 TW leak.
EDIT: Also, both devices shared the same maintainer. Most of the bugs were the same, on both devices.

Fair enough.
Woo I flashed :D
One thing though: shouldn't I root? Something's telling me I'm probably not rooted by default in Cyanogenmod right?

You should be rooted now, though I like SuperSU better as a superuser app so I don't use the one that comes with CM.

Wait, why are you mad? Did you just get a new phone?
Is there a way I can uninstall Apollo from Cyanogenmod? I'm sure I can do whatever the hell I want now that I'm rooted but I can't find out how to uninstall it :v:

Uninstalling isn't very practical as it'll reappear after every CM update (and if you're an update whore, there's a new update about every day). Go to your app drawer, long press Apollo and drag the icon to the app info icon on your homescreen (should be at the top). There you'll see a disable button. Pressing this will not remove the app from your device but it won't be functional nor will it appear anywhere but on a list of installed apps (not your app drawer etc).
If you really want to remove it, Titanium Backup can do it.
What does the spinning blue circle mean in my status bar?
If you really want to remove it, Titanium Backup can do it.
Yes but like I said, it'll reappear after every update.
What does the spinning blue circle mean in my status bar?
Screenshot? Perhaps you set the battery icon or some other to a different image. Some of them spin.
Battery icon is a circle in CM10.1 by default, it spins when charging.
Wait, why are you mad? Did you just get a new phone?
If he got a One it wouldn't even be a problem because you could S-OFF and flash the images from the GE One.
Sense is great so I don't feel blindsided by the news of a Stock HTC One.
Maybe this will mean more stable Stock builds on the One.
If he got a One it wouldn't even be a problem because you could S-OFF and flash the images from the GE One.
I don't think you even need S-OFF to flash. Once the bootloader's unlocked, you can flash any recovery. I'm sure there will be CWM-compatible zips once the GE drops.
i have a nexus 4
On another note, it turns out the HTC One GE's IR blaster will be disabled. Guess that'll probably be the same case for the S4 GE too.
Source
Stock Android, surprisingly, does not support infrared devices, meaning the One's IR blaster won't work when the device ships.
Probably a good time for ASOP to implement IR; especially if it makes a come back in the next set of flagships too.
The good thing is that the blaster is there physically. If it isn't working on launch, that doesn't mean it won't be added in 5.0/Next version of Android.
AND I just applied a screen protector (generic one that came with my bumper clone for the Nexus 4) with using a piece of ductape to secure it in perfect position before peeling the back off.
WHY didn't I do this back on my S2? I have applied it flawlessly, there's not even any dust!
Time to look for decent quality screen protectors! Any recommendations (Nexus 4, ideally for both sides)? I know SGP is a good brand, but if anyone else has any other ideas, feel free to share.
Poweramp opens but closes after 2 seconds D:
tried reenabling Apollo to see if it was gonna make a difference, but it doesn't.
here's the oddest thing: it plays music fine from the widget and all, the app runs ok in the background
but if I go into the interface then it just stops playing and closes
Stop making me hungry, Max!
Did you try clearing data and force stopping it?
