I never knew I could do this but double tapping, holding on second tap and moving up/down, works like two-finger zoom. I have been using it for past week and it is handy as hell in normal and one-hand use.
Anyway, it is ROM specific or Android OS thing? Because I tried it on my friends Xaomi 2 and it was not working.
Not doing anything on my PA flashed G2
Just ordered a One Plus One!
Getting root on the Galaxy S and S2 was easy, the S3 a bit harder and since the SELinux update for the S4 and the S5 I don't think they've gotten anywhere yet in the custom rom department.
I remember using S4 Toolkit to root my phone, did it on day 1 of owning the device.

Works on my stock Nexus 5.
I also got invite for 1+1, but is reserved for someone. If he does not respond in 5 hours I can give it to random person :)
Anyone knows a good mid range phone? Never bothered with them, but now I have to choose one as a secondary phone for work..

Moto G? If not, Moto E?
Moto G would be too large. I cannot really have a Note 1 and a phone that large in the same pocket. Moto E seems alright, not so excited with that screen resolution tho.
Also no Samsung phones? Normally I would not buy them if I wanted to root or change rom, but this phone won't be touched like this. So despite TouchWhiz and the customizability Samsung phones are alright in my book.

Dont buy low/middle-end Samsung phones, I had one and never again. Flagships barely run Touchwiz.

What's your budget? You'd probably be looking for a great battery life device too, since it is for work. Looking for a used device would be your best bet.
Not a big fan of used phones. I just need to look at my current phone and see all the annoying little scratches it got over the nealry 3 years now.
The budget is probably around 150$ This is what i got from a statment that was "not too expensive and not too cheap".

Based on around $215.47 aud (150 euro), these phones are for you:
*Huawei Ascend G6
*Motorola Moto G
*Asus Zenfone 5
I've been putting off updating my 2012 Nexus 7 to 4.4.3 + 4.4.4 because of the issues I've read about it. Yesterday I thought "fuck it" and updated. It was more or less fine last night. Today it's been crashing constantly. Like within minutes of boot and often refusing to switch on.
Fuck sake.
Take it while you can! 2late.

If your device was on a ROM where cetain SElinux and KNOX things hadn't been turned on yet then you could root. Afterwards it was no longer possible afaik.

You want a phone smaller than 4.5" and you're upset about the resolution? And you want a small phone so you can stuff it in the same pocket as a Note 1? You may want to re-evaluate your phone carrying strategy.
Go get a sk17a

the invite will expire and get recycled in the system.

I think that might have been the case since I did it last year.
I'm going on a journey to use Minuum to see if I prefer it to SwiftKey. So far I'm slower with this but on the plus side so much screen space.
I've been using Textra and I only have one complaint, the emoji stuff. I prefer Android's style, not iOS.

I also have issues sending pictures, but that might be AT&T. Happens more when I'm on WiFi.

If you turned data off while on wifi, I think it won't send the photo. I can't download pictures while wifi is on sometimes.

MMS uses carrier data
MMS uses carrier data
I think that's what he means. If you turn off mobile data when you switch to Wifi, MMS fails. Sometimes this happens even with mobile data enabled on wifi. It was a very common bug back in the 2.X days. For some reason, the phone doesn't start the mobile data connection alongside wifi so MMS fails.
