I'm planning on making the switch from my old, wheathered iPod Touch to an Android phone. The only thing that has kept me around was the convenience of the iTunes Store and its podcasting services, what with how it downloaded new episodes for me and conveniently synced them into my iPod.
Is there an app or a software that does just that? As in, lists new episodes, lets me download them and sync them to my phone, stuff like that?
Pocket Cast or BeyondPod. I use Pocket Casts personally since i prefer the interface.

Awesome.
What about an app that works just like the 'tv show tracker 3' app on iOS. One of my most used apps.

You could try out "SeriesGuide". That might be what you're looking for.
what's up with S5 destroying sd cards?
So I'm tempted by a Nexus 5 after I smashed my Samsung Galaxy S3 on the floor of a poundland the other day

Is that price to good to be true? Or should I hold out a while in case a trusted seller lowers their price?
I had a standby time of 5hrs with absolutely no use today.
I came inside checked my phone because I had a missed call. Set it on my desk started working on my car and came back in around 5:00 and it was at like 30%.
woah, thats pretty bad. have you tried getting a replacement/repair from your carrier (or LG)?
Talon reached it's Twitter API token limit

Factory reset my phone and only installed a few apps.
Seems to be doing fine. Going to test it some more later.
Twitter sure loves doing that.
They released a new application that uses Matrial Design.
Because Google, if I want to buy it, it'll have to be at full price, and a 300% price increase from the original.
Original one got unpublished, but will still be updated, and go open source
Stock Android should seriously get some additional features for tethering like what other OEMs put in like knowing who/what device is connected when you are running a wifi hotspot.

it really shouldn't
...Why not? That seems like a genuinely useful feature that should be there.
...Why not? That seems like a genuinely useful feature that should be there.
I mean, the feature has been around since "Wireless Tether for Root" was a thing back in 2010. Hell, you could configure subnet settings and MAC address white/blacklists. There's no reason it shouldn't be there. Sense tethering doesn't give you that level of granularity granted, but it at least tells you how many devices are connected.

Carriers could use that to detect tethering, that would suck quite a lot.
Of course the One plus One Flipcover is not available... I still remember the scratch I got with my current phone that could have been prevented if the cover came one day earlier.
Carriers could use that to detect tethering, that would suck quite a lot.
In Australia, carriers don't give a fuck what you do with your mobile data, they just want you to use it up so that you can pay them more. Most people only get between 1-6GB of data a month so it isn't unlimited so why the hell would they not let you tether?
woah, thats pretty bad. have you tried getting a replacement/repair from your carrier (or LG)?
I would use LGFlashTool to completely reflash your phone if you're having serious issues. Otherwise, other than 0 development likely for the LG G3 it was a horribly mediocre phone compared to my LG G2. I tried to tell you all to grab a G2 while you still could instead, same hardware, better profile, better battery life. Replacement parts cost and repairability is pretty great too if you count always replacing the full front housing and screen.

Carriers in certain other countries are special, and want to sell you tethering plans.

Windows Phone is Android now, apparently.

Eh, they have their reasons at least to stop you from tethering for unlimited data plans. Not like the biggest US carriers even goddamn offer unlimited data.
Also I'm pretty sure windows phone spoofs its user agent so websites don't serve up that website that says "hey I see you're on internet explorer get firefox or chrome pls"

Where I live, my service provider has plans with metered data and tethering free! (WOW GREAT DEAL - only goes up to 4 GB metered, but whatever)
I have the unlimited data plan WHAT A FUCKING SURPRISE NO TETHERING and if you want tethering YOU HAVE TO PAY THIRTY DOLLARS MORE A MONTH WHYYYY
Also it's technically "unlimited" in the fact that after 16GB of full speed, they call you and are like "hey dude stop going so fast here's like, CDMA speeds yo"
:\
I fucking hate service providers. No need for half their bullshit

I have two extra I'm trying to sell.
They're both unused and blue colored.

My unlimited plan goes into 128kb/s after only 5GB :(
There is no such thing as paying extra for tethering though

That's basically what Cable plans are like in Australia :v:
Does anyone know if the Sony Xperia Z2 will get 5.0 ?

All Z devices will get lollipop.
Carriers could use that to detect tethering, that would suck quite a lot.
The only way I'd see that work is if carriers modify the ROM with their typical carrier shit that also includes something that can detect tethering. If you have an unlocked device, you wouldn't have to worry about it.
That and I've been trying to find an app to install that can tell me what devices are connected and maybe how much bandwidth said devices are using. The only thing I've found that is somewhat similar is having another device connected to the wifi hotspot and running Fing to discover devices. This only tells me what devices are connected.

T-Mobile has Unlimited LTE for $80 a month which just happens to cost the same as the Big Three carriers in Canada for 500MB of data. Although T-Mobile only "allows" 5GB of tethered data.
I barely break 100 MB a month. Do you people stream video all day or something?
I use 1-2gb because I browse fp/reddit with my phone. sometimes I download a song or an app or two. If you spend a long time browsing shit all day it can rack up quickly
