I'm thinking about getting an HTC One M8, is there anything else I should look at before I commit to it?
Is the Moto G the best sub-$200 smartphone on the market?
Yes.
I need a recommendation for a new phone. * $100 preferred, hard limit $250 * Used is fine * Not draconian about rooting/flashing (a little triangle on boot is OK, a 200 step process is not) * Android 4.x required, 4.3 or later preferred * Actually runs, doesn't feel like I'm running an OEM-bloated Win7 install on a 486 * Not a OnePlus One (I do not want to put up with invite nonsense)
I'm thinking about getting an HTC One M8, is there anything else I should look at before I commit to it?
LG G3, or if you can a 1+1 invite. G3 is beautiful, almost picked one up
LG G3, or if you can a 1+1 invite. G3 is beautiful, almost picked one up
quick reminder that the "buy a 1+1 without an invite" hour is soon. It is essentially an hour of pre-ordering. I wonder how flooded their website will be that hour. That is tomorrow, you can check when based on your time zone here http://preorder.oneplus.net/
I have a G2, and I'd get an m8 over a g3
How many of you use Google now? Does it drain the battery? Is it even worth using?
I use it. It barely has an effect on battery drain for me vs it off. It is very much worth using. I love how it tracks my bus commute and will give me the next bus schedule, it also tracks packages for me, shows me traffic estimates, and weather. Also interesting news articles. I love it.
Seems like its less useful for people outside the US, doesn't do any of those.
It does that stuff for me in the UK.
At home in my rural town it doesn't do that much, weather, tracking, news, couple sports teams, and the other day I saw my bills show up too. But when I travel like to Brisbane I use it all the time for public transport, and now a reminder that home is in a different time zone.
What decent features does Omnirom have these days?
Any way to prevent the YouTube player from pausing playback whenever switching app? I only use YouTube these days to listen to music, so I don't need to stop playback at all.
You can use an app like PVSTAR+ (horrible interface but it gets the job done)
I use Viral (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Mata.YTplayer&hl=fi). Even though it's main features is the popup player, you can use the app as a regular Youtube player.
opinions on nexus 6? it looks nice but the screen size is heewwwgggg
too expensive.
i'll buy one when money
i'll buy one when money
I thought you said you didn't need it.
I thought you said you didn't need it.
the light of duarte led me to it
How many of you use Google now? Does it drain the battery? Is it even worth using?
It gives me easy access to checking the weather based on my location, local places for food and bus schedules. It also reminded me that there was a solar Eclipse last week. I would have totally forgotten about it.
tbh 1+1 > nexus 6
with the price difference, most definitely [editline]26th October 2014[/editline] $799 for 64GB vs. 349. lmao
tbh 1+1 > nexus 6
it's also not massive
the oneplus is already stretching it when it comes to being a phablet. 6" is basically a small tablet. imagine holding it up to your ear
the oneplus is already stretching it when it comes to being a phablet. 6" is basically a small tablet. imagine holding it up to your ear
ah remember when everyone made fun of the Samsung Galaxy Note 1 for being so fucking huge? those were the days..
ah remember when everyone made fun of the Samsung Galaxy Note 1 for being so fucking huge? those were the days..
Everyone still makes fun of the Note for being fucking huge. We don't think it is bad though, it is just comically large.
