And then there's taxes and fees. I have to pay a $10 tax to the county for 911 service

I would have recommended the note for the s pen if it wasn't practically impossible to run decent custom ROMs nowadays.
I would have recommended the note for the s pen if it wasn't practically impossible to run decent custom ROMs nowadays.
Never really extensively used S-Pen, I'd imagine it's a cool and useful thing to have. Fuck typing notes, draw/write that shit.

I still use my trusty old Galaxy Note 10.1, and it still works wonders. [editline]3rd November 2014[/editline] The device is obviously not running stock rom, because stock cripples S Pen functionality by making apps unable to get events from the side button. The side button is reserved for global gestures, which is bullshit.
I just found out that if you double tap the screen and move your finger up or down you zoom in and out. #revelations
I just found out that if you double tap the screen and move your finger up or down you zoom in and out. #revelations
Holy shit that actually works. Double tap, but on the second tap don't release your finger.

[editline]3rd November 2014[/editline] That said, omni DOES have an accessibility feature where a triple tap zooms in. [editline]3rd November 2014[/editline] Obviously no one thought to also scale pen input.
Got a text from my telco saying they're boosting my $40 plan from 2GB to 2.5GB next recharge I'm happy with that, I'd love 500mb extra [editline]3rd November 2014[/editline]
Awesome news, from 3rd November 2014 till 26th January 2015, Boost Mobile customers can get a bonus 500MB when they recharge $40 UNLTD® online or via their handset using their credit card/debit card or paypal account.
Oh it's a limited time offer, fuck :( [editline]3rd November 2014[/editline] And I just recharged before this fucking offer hnnnnnnnng
And here I am just making do with 500 MB...
I don't know how people live with less than 5GB, I get upto 9MB/s down from the play store WITHOUT the 150mbps LTE bands on my phone. I could blow through 500mb faster than I could take a piss. 500mb should be a damn crime.
According to my phone bill, I used 7GB in the last billing period [editline]2nd November 2014[/editline] Also stock Sprint G2 Rom is terrible. I get ads in my notification bar for tv shows.
Sprint does cancerous things to roms, I would never use a stock Sprint rom ever. Try out CloudyG3, it works fairly decent on the LS980. Houstonn is finally back and is working on PA builds since his computer fried in June.. So hopefully by the end of this month we have PA builds rolling again.
Ok I fucking give up on the gpad I can not break through LG's bullshit bootloader restrictions can someone tell me how? Seems like the v500 is on the same level with the G2 so if anyone here put a custom rom on their G2 could you give me some pointers?

Most of my mobile usage is just images from Facebook, Reddit, Hangouts, etc, and some web browsing. That usually stays just under 500. Also, you never stream music from Google Play Music; you download it on WiFi before you go out.

This must be why it takes me twice as long to apps over like 20mb or something stupid to start updating than to download and install. That sounds like just enough for emergency use.. Please tell me you don't get overage fees on that at least? T-Mobile hasn't had 500mb plans even optional since like 2011 and I've had 2gb+ since 2010....

It's not so much for emergency use, it's more of "I don't want to use extra data over my data cap because that would cost me extra on my bill which is something I don't want so I try to watch my data usage". Shit like what's app uses data of course and people leave data on to get the messages and send stuff. You can switch up limited voice minutes per month with data. On some plans, incoming calls count as minute usage. So I'd use my home phone to do most of my calling since that's I unlimited so I avoid going over or getting close to going over the voice minute cap. And yes, people yet charged overage. Welcome to Canada. And other places on the world.

Anyone's L dropped on their Nexus device at all? I've heard it's dropping today. Nothing on my UK Nexus 7 2013.
As someone who has had a Galaxy S2 for a few years and been out of the loop: what is the spiritual successor to the S2? I'm intrigued by the Galaxy Alpha, but it's not fully clear to me how much of an uprade it is to the S5, if at all, or how far behind it will be from the S6. The HTC One Mini 2 (what the fuck are their naming conventions) looked neat too until I realized it doesn't have hardware buttons. What do they think I want? An iphone?
Anyone's L dropped on their Nexus device at all? I've heard it's dropping today. Nothing on my UK Nexus 7 2013.
I'm probably not going to wait, I'll just sideload the factory image when it's made available. My Nexus 7 2012 is getting a bit slow and is due a factory reset anyway. (On that note, does anyone know when the factory images will be available?)
I keep checking my phone in anticipation for lollipop being available. Nothing yet, though.
The Lollipop release source code is being pushed to AOSP repos as we speak, no factory images as of yet.
