Inbox is fucking shit Typical Google trying to innovate with weird shit that's counterproductive. They better not discontinue the vanilla Android Email app and force us with this crap.
Inbox is ok, but the huge red plus in the bottom right is annoying as shit, and I vastly prefer Outlook's mail web portal to Gmail + Outlook's spam detector isn't overzealous (for me.) [editline]6th November 2014[/editline] Basically if you're gonna make a new email app, don't cover half of one email with a compose button. I barely send emails anyway.
-snip, thought this was CIPWTTKT :v: -
Gmail app discontinues the vanilla Email app. Inbox is great, I really don't understand what your issue with it is.
I'd use Inbox if google apps users weren't continually treated as second class citizens "add events from gmail" -- the new calendar, doesn't work on google apps "try inbox" -- doesn't work on google apps "gmail cards in google now" -- doesn't work on google apps the list goes on and on
I'm having a real hard time choosing between the Nexus 6 on verizon or something like Sony's Z3v. Right now it's up in the air if Verizon will even carry the N6 in store, and I'm not even sure if I could handle a phone that big, but I want lollipop asap. The Z3v looks nice, but since that's it's own edition of the Z3, it scares me on how slow it will prolly get updates.

Problem is that I think you need to unlock the bootloader and you lose drm keys. The z3v is locked too, so Verizon kind of fucks you over, but Sony themed lollipop comes out next year. If you want lollipop go nexus, if you want the suped up z2 and wait that's up to you.
The only thing I really do not like with inbox is, if you set an email to "done" it will be moved from your inbox into your "All mail" label. This causes the mail to simply vanish on desktop mail programs and so on.
Yep done action just archives it.
Inbox archiving everything I wanted it to archive was nice. Back on Gmail, I think you had to do it 50 at a time. No one has time for that, especially if I had 1000+ emails.

I want to be able to look at my phone screen and immediately know what's in my inbox, forcing me to swipe is just an unnecessary nuisance. Also they're pretty good at pissing people off, regardless their intention. Remember discontinuing Google Reader? Google Plus? The coupling with YouTube? I'm not saying they don't have great products, but imo they can make some really annoying decisions.
Yep done action just archives it.
What's the point of archiving anyways?
the youtube+google plus thing was literally the best thing ever i can actually use my youtube account from any of my gmail accounts
Honestly, it was inevitable. I feel like I'm crazy, but 5 years ago, people would say their biggest complaint about Google services is how seperated they were. You could get on each one, and they felt like two entirely different services that only shared a login. Now that Google actually has tried to resolve that issue, people lose their shit. Its like they forgot that YouTube IS a Google service. I guess you can't please them all.
Got my new G2, no more digitizer problems! My new screen protector just came in too. [editline]6th November 2014[/editline] https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/163422/Small+row+of+screen+unresponsive this is the issue i had btw, just used my insurance and got it replaced for nothing out of pocket. Wiping my cache whenever it became completely unusable helped but there was still a strip that was unresponsive or spotty. [editline]6th November 2014[/editline] Jesus my new phone must be factory new old stock. Its on its third firmware update.
If you want more people to chat with on Hangouts, play Ingress and join their G+ groups.
Are they as magic and incredible as people say?
in general yes
speaking of the 1+1, mine has some scratches on the screen, woo
Screen protector like Orzly would protect from that problem :)
screen protectors make the phone feel considerably worse with touch gestures and things. i end up tearing them off after a while even the tempered glass ones. you need to spend a lot of money to get decent ones
