Why would a US one not work? Different frequencies?
the only band overlap between australia and us (with that phone) is 1800, which is now being used for 4g, which that phone doesn't have it's effectively useless in australia now
Right so I am now installing Android 5.0 factory image directly from Google right now. the flash-all.bat wouldn't work so I'm doing it through fastboot manually. Slow process is slow. I didn't want to wait for the OTA either because I was on the dev preview which couldn't get it apparently.
So i'm waiting for custom N5 roms, but I decided to install 5.0 on my N7 2013, when I booted it it asked for my to tap my N5 to my N7 and it copied all my info over! Rad as fuck, saved me so much time. [editline]12th November 2014[/editline] and it's installing all my apps too already. fucking haven't had to do shit.
It doesn't work with sprint or verizon. No cdma, gsm networks only.
this alarmed me. i don't have it yet, but what australian carriers will it work with? [editline]13th November 2014[/editline] i'm with virgin at the moment
It is installed, everything seems to be working fine. We shall see how much better the battery life is. I flashed the new radio firmware and everything. I guess I'll go get root later this week.

Where's my Nexus 4 Lollipop goddammit :(
I have been sent 2 invites by one plus for them cancelling my order. The one that I claimed will last 7 days, but, how long will the unclaimed one last?
If it is like any other invite 24 hours after they sent the mail.

After that it worked. I'm currently using 5.0 on my Nexus 7 2013 and I'm already not a fan of the new status bar. I liked it before when I could drag down from left and get notifications, and drag from the right to get options. Now I gotta drag down twice to reach options. I also don't like how I now need to go to the settings menu if I want to enable auto brightness, I can't do it from the status bar.

I didnt think it was that bad
First device with ICS is one of the first with Lollipop. I'm honestly shocked it works as well as it does. I would totally try this out if I wasn't already using it as a dash cam.
You can drag using 2 fingers, just like with 4.4 and before.
You can do it with just your thumb too Slide it straight down with your thumb and let your knuckle hit the screen, it'll flip it over into the settings tiles
You can do it with just your thumb too Slide it straight down with your thumb and let your knuckle hit the screen, it'll flip it over into the settings tiles
Are you a wizard? I can only get that to work once out of ten tries. I'll just stick to dragging down with two fingers.
Is the Galaxy S II still a decent phone or are the AMOLED screens in most of those phones worn out? From the short time I used one with an extended battery running Cyanogenmod it seemed to get amazing power efficiency while being small and lagless (3-4 days light use with an aftermarket 3500mAh), but I'm not sure buying one used would be a good idea considering AMOLED burn-in / color fade.
Tap and flick the status bar
I'm bootlooping on L :| I think I've fucked up on something
Post 'em

still waiting for the update on my nexus 5
still waiting for the update on my nexus 5
just flash yourself, easy as pie.
How am I supposed to access catlog if the system can't boot to enable ADB and I can't acccess it's storage? Anyway the problem seemed to be that I was using an old version of fastboot (Kitkat's :( )
you could just update the bootloader and then it should boot up fine ?? I have no idea if this actually works

So do I lose warranty when I use ADB to flash Lollipop? Or do I keep it?
Depends on the phone. When I flashed my G2 back to stock it unrooted it and erased any record of having been rooted. When I took it in for warranty work they gave me a new phone.
Alright, and ADBing also wipes everything too?
Alright, and ADBing also wipes everything too?
only if you forget to remove the -w
You can drag using 2 fingers, just like with 4.4 and before.
You can also double tap the notification bar to quickly expand the entire notifications without dragging anything down or triple tap to pull down the quick settings immediately.
You can also double tap the notification bar to quickly expand the entire notifications without dragging anything down or triple tap to pull down the quick settings immediately.
I still reckon a quick tap flip works better, as you just then put your finger over the settings, in a faster movement
I'm now using my wireless charger instead of the cable so we will see how that goes. It works, slow but whatever. I kinda wished the 1+1 had wireless charging, it would have been pretty nice.
