where can i find the "kill switch" option in android L?
My S4 keeps rebooting randomly. It started after I tried rooting it by using ODIN and towelroot which initially worked, then the rebooting came. I completely unrooted and uninstalled towelroot and flashed my phone back to default and I'm still getting reboots. Any ideas?
Thinking about picking up a smart watch soon. Does the moto 360 still have awful battery life? Does anyone here have a g watch r?
Moto 360 is the only device I've seen in the past ~5 years that legitimately requires the battery to settle. I'm taking it off the charger at before 7am, I'm at around 40% by 10pm

T-Mobile has the LG G Watch R for $209.99 instead of $300 which is stupid expensive
Uhm, xposed are you alright??

Downloaded the trial version of Lightroom to do a proper RAW comparison for the OPO camera:

Trying to fix light balance is a bitch because Scottish weather is weird. looks odd to me no matter what I do, I think the pic is somewhat accurate though.
[editline]edit[/editline]
added tree pic, if you zoom in and compare both at 1:1 the difference in detail is massive.
the real benefits of RAW on these low dynamic range phone cameras is the black and white performance gain. in colour you're going to get lots of noise regardless
W/B is much better in raw, also
You can only go so far with RAWs, especially with smartphone sensors. If you really fucked up exposure, editing the RAW won't be able to do much. Nail down the exposure as much as possible and you'd have enough data in the RAWs to do plenty of fixing. The stock camera app on the 1+1 can improve in so many ways, one of which is the damn viewfinder. It does a 16:9 crop into the 4:3 image you're actually taking a photo of so framing stuff is sometimes hard. Google Camera (or the stock Nexus camera app) used to do that and it was annoying as shit, I just used ProCapture for photos. The next improvement would be the processing, it kinda sucks compared to other phones and camera apps. Now I'm waiting for more 3rd party apps to take advantage of the 1+1 RAW capabilities such as Camera FV-5, Google Camera and ProCapture.
Speaking of the 1+1 camera, the dual-LED flash seems to be very dim when you turn it onto Torch mode via the quick settings. The Nexus 5 seems to be 3-5 times brighter in LED Torch mode. However, when the 1+1 stock camera app is focusing with the flash, the torch light for focusing seems to be twice as bright as the torch mode via quick settings. So I guess it's just whatever LED power setting the quick setting uses, I'll go find a flashlight app that let's be use different LED power settings. Now for actual flash for photo capture, it looks like the 1+1 is more diffused (less directed and strong) and spread out while the Nexus 5 is stronger but more directed and less spread out.
Google Camera still sucks ass when focusing. Literally every other camera app I've installed does a better job on focusing..
Thinking about getting a 1st gen Moto G. Worth it?

I strongly recommend it, good phone for its price, and it's confirmed to get Android L in the near future.
It's got a Quad Core 1.2GHz. Will it be able to run newer games or will it stutter a lot?
Define "newer games" - what would you be using it for?
Vipers audio works on 5.0 if you set the selinux mode to permissive
I have a to upgrade from my 3.5 year old HTC legend. I'm thinking about buying an HTC M8, apart from the stuck inside battery, is there anything bad I should know about?

Most glaring fault I've seen is the oleophobic layer on the camera lens tends to get scratched causing blurriness. You can scrape it off, but its still an annoyance.
The phone is pretty solid overall though. Can't say I've had issues with it.

Well, mostly apps, listening to music, watching videos... Plex, if it has that. Netflix... stuff? This'll be my first smartphone, ya see.
I guess if I had to put a level of comparison: would it run GTA San Andreas without any problems?

I don't really use mine for gaming, though I have tried some "intensive" games on it (smash hit is quite a good one for stress testing phones, works well on my Moto G). It probably would run GTA: SA without any problems.
It runs apps fine, music + video too. I'd recommend the Moto G for you if that's what you're mainly going to use it for.
If anyone wants a 90-day trial for Google Play Music All Access, even if you tried the trial before..

This'll be my first time with 3G too, so I wanna experiment with the kind of apps that don't work as well if you don't have a 3G connection. Not just social media... GPS stuff, I suppose.
Once I get the cellphone, you guys can expect me to come back and ask what I should do as a beginner.

Happy to help.
You can get GPS apps which download maps automatically and cache them for offline use (so you could download the map you need then use the phone as a satnav).

I've had my M8 for a month now and I only have 3 complaints:
- No user-replaceable battery
- No inductive charging
- Camera lens is hard to keep clean.
Another question: what are the best podcatchers for someone with Android? Not asking for an app... I'm asking for a software that lets me download episodes on my PC and sync them with my smartphone.

Android phones act like memory sticks when connected to a PC, you can just drag the file over to them (you might want to make a folder called "Videos" just to keep things organised on the phone), android phones can play most popular formats, though there is VLC for Android (just search that in the google play store).

I get that. It's just that, like I've said before, one of the reasons I've stuck with my ditchy old-ass iPod Touch is because of the simplicity of iTunes. I just want something that does that for Android.

Ah, I never liked how iTunes "synced" things so I can't help you here, not even sure you can pull the actual files from iTunes podcast files (though I could be wrong?)

Really, all I'm looking for is a podcatcher- as in, an app that stores my podcast subscriptions, goes through them on a hourly basis, sees what new episodes there are, lets me download them and then sync them to my smartphone. Surely there's gotta be something like that.

That's the thing: I'd prefer a Windows software, because usually I have a lot of subscriptions- and a lot of them give me big files- so I'd rather have everything on my PC first.

it can automatically download them over wifi when charging
i'd highly suggest keeping it all on the phone
