Does anyone here own one of the newer HTC One models? I bought the original HTC One when it came out a little bit over two years ago and I love the phone. I've dropped it so many times without damaging it, except a small scratch on the screen. I've been looking in to getting a newer one since my phone plan has run out. How durable are the newer HTC One, looking at HTC One M8 at the moment.
I can't say I've dropped mine and I also have a case. I doubt its going to explode unless it takes a ridiculous hard tumble though.
I can't say I've dropped mine and I also have a case. I doubt its going to explode unless it takes a ridiculous hard tumble though.
I've dropped mine down stone stairs and I've also thrown it in to a concrete wall by accident twice without damaging the phone at all. I'm curious if it's that durable, I've seen pictures of the newer HTC One phones and they look a lot more flimsy like an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy than the original One.
I have a case on mine because I'm paranoid of the thing shattering to pieces if I drop it but that said it's held up incredibly well. The only complaint I have is the film on the camera gets foggy after a while and the power button rattles with the case off.
I can't say I've dropped mine and I also have a case. Still gotta replace that, the dust getting underneath is fucking with the picture.
I stopped bothering with cases and screen protectors back in June, I found that the cases I had were shit for the Nexus 5 and the screen protectors were also pretty shit.
Finally getting used to Paranoid Android on the OPO. I can say it's easily the best rom available for our phones. So many cool features, and so much polish. I'll probably wait and use their release of Lollipop.
I stopped bothering with cases and screen protectors back in June, I found that the cases I had were shit for the Nexus 5 and the screen protectors were also pretty shit.
Sounds safe.
Just got a Moto X used, woo. They're surprisingly cheap nowadays for what they are.
Sounds safe.
Totally, I don't seem to ever drop stuff so it's generally all good. And if something does happen, oh well. The phone just feels better without the case and adding the case adds more bulk and the Nexus 5 is already really stretching it a bit in terms of usability with one hand. I don't want it more bulk such that it is harder to use in one hand. Still smooth.
i could imagine someone using the oneplus flip cover and some crap tempered glass protector. it would be such a bulky ugly phone
The act of putting my phone in and out of my pockets seems to scratch my screen. Glad I've got the glass protector

I have really big hands so I'm a little spoiled on that regard. I've got a dual layer case on my Oneplus one and I can easily thumb it with one hand. Maybe just use a rhino shield for peace of mind and otherwise keep it naked?
idk, carrying a wallet case saves me from carrying a wallet so the end result is that I actually carry less crap in my pockets. Two of my phones have been saved by either a glass protector / wallet case so having them is just some extra peace of mind.
The shorts I wear for work have a neat dedicated phone pocket, but I only wear shorts at work and I'll occasionally still put my phone in the wrong pocket with my keys or knife

Speaking of glass screen protectors, remember when dBrand gave a shot at it and the packaging wasn't padded enough and then they decided to say it was a flop and gave everyone refunds? Right, I probably should have ordered it and gave it a shot. I look forward to what they will do with their 2nd version of it.
Hey guys, I'm planning to buy an Android phone on Christmas to replace this shitty iPhone 4. I've been looking at the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 right now (I may or may not change my mind). It looks great, but I'm not a fan of the bloatware and whatever the fuck Samsung has in their phone OS. Can someone enlighten me about it and/or tell me if it's possible to remove it or install Cyanogen Mod/Stock Google Android?
Don't buy a Samsung phone if you don't want Touchwiz. Especially the note series, the pen thing is totally useless on stock Android. You'll just get an ugly, overpriced shitty plastic phone without any of the features that actually make Samsung phones different.
it's still not something people actually do on a regular basis
It does not mean it is not great. Its Google's fault that they use ridiculous dpi settings on FullHD 5+ inch phones, way too big. Well, see for yourself: http://imgur.com/a/d2ebF (up-380, down-480 stock 1+1 dpi). Its not popular, but for me that is dealbreaker if I had to change to Apple and there is no way to change that.

[editline]24th November 2014[/editline]
ignoring the furry chat there's a point when a screen gets too information dense imo, and 380 is way past it
yeah when there is too much information, it starts to feel cluttered
the stock dpi on the oneplus is perfect. your dpi looks like cluttered garbage (not taking the furry shit in to consideration either)
the stock dpi on the oneplus is perfect. your dpi looks like cluttered garbage (not taking the furry shit in to consideration either)
No its not, its too high for that screen size.
Same here, except I used 445 since it's the proper N5 DPI setting
I use 400 to get an extra row of icons on the home screen. 300 is the lowest it goes before breaking
I used to use a custom dpi on my G2 but now that I had everything reinstalled I got used to the default one. I don't even know why I would change it anymore.
And I think the stock DPI for the Nexus 5 on 5.0 is just fine for me.
Google Play Music uses a lot of battery as it seems on my Nexus 5.. The Nexus 4 is better than the Moto G in all ways except battery life. And the tablet is a bonus. EDIT: the only caveat is that it's the 8 GB model of N4. I like my 16 GB Moto G.
Decrease it to 380 or 420 and you'll never be able to use it with the overdense DPI again
Ok, I'll give it a shot later.
