too bad it's the 2012 N7, that thing is practically unusable now
are the issues really that bad? and if so, what's going wrong?
Nobody changes their bloody DPI on Android. You're basically a nonexistent niche
I love changing my DPI so that everything is a bit smaller, you get more screen real estate and I can operate the settings menu without even scrolling. It's subtle and nice but completely device dependent. The only app I have seen that is negatively affected by DPI scaling is Google Opinion Rewards (card UI has massive padding) even though I have over 300 apps installed. [editline]25th November 2014[/editline]
Don't buy a Samsung phone if you don't want Touchwiz. Especially the note series, the pen thing is totally useless on stock Android. You'll just get an ugly, overpriced shitty plastic phone without any of the features that actually make Samsung phones different.
Samsung is one of the only options if you are looking for an OLED screen, other than that there are no distinguishing differences since manufacturers finally fucking put SD card support but into devices.
ignoring the furry chat there's a point when a screen gets too information dense imo, and 380 is way past it
I decided to download a pic and put it on my Nexus 5 full screen to see how it is. I use Hangouts on a daily basis, rather frequently so I used the Hangouts example. I find it way too dense and the buttons way too small for me. I still find the stock DPI to be much better overall, in my opinion.
If I get S-OFF on my HTC One M7 (Sprint) using this tutorial, then install GPE ROM on my One, will I lose all my data/apps and if I do install the ROM, will stuff like connecting to my Moto 360 still work?

Its really up to everyone which DPI is good for him. Im not saying it is a MUST for everyone, but it is for me now. I used 410 before and 380 now, everyone can test they sweet spot anytime, if they have root. Its really easy and fast to change. Still nobody really told me, if Apple have anything symilar, even if after jailbreaking, but I guess no.
are the issues really that bad? and if so, what's going wrong?
Google fucked up by using stupidly cheap flash chips that deteriorate really quickly. Everything is just horribly slow and unresponsive and locks up fairly frequently. I have to reboot mine pretty much daily to try to keep it as bearable as possible but even then it's still ridiculously stuttery and frustrating, and takes several seconds just to unlock the device and open apps. And this is only days after a fresh install of Lollipop.
If I get S-OFF on my HTC One M7 (Sprint) using this tutorial, then install GPE ROM on my One, will I lose all my data/apps
I cannot really watch the link you provided due to work filter regulations, but unlocking a phone's bootloader will wipe all your phones data and apps. In the end your phone will be just like it arrived out of the box, just with an unlocked bootloader.
and if I do install the ROM, will stuff like connecting to my Moto 360 still work?
Probably. IIRC the Moto 360 can be paired with any Android device running KitKat.

I'll still play around with the dpi later on.
On my one plus all of a sudden I have no profile picture. It won't let me change any profile pictures either. I click on pictures in People and it does nothing. Any ideas ?
Looking to get some Bluetooth headphones. Considering the monoprice sport 10564 in particular. Any other suggestions?
got my 1+1! it's fucking fantastic how do i screenshot? the internet says lock button+volume down but that does not work
Just changed my DPI. [t]https://s3.amazonaws.com/pushbullet-uploads/ujzHaSJcPvM-mF4GcyAQfVSwL1my4tDIJssm6NdEaJuO/Screenshot_2014-11-25-13-07-12.png[/t] Help me. [editline]25th November 2014[/editline] I'm not even joking how do I fix this. I've changed my DPI back, cleared data and cache but it's still MASSIVE.
got my 1+1! it's fucking fantastic how do i screenshot? the internet says lock button+volume down but that does not work
It is lock button + volume down, you need to press them at the same time. Pressing either slightly before will trigger their action.

I absolutely hated my G3's stock DPI as to me it felt even worse, on the G3 changing the DPI would basically be a required feature for me. The huge DPI was great for a Nexus 4 or pre-2012 phone but it has no place anymore. I miss PA's Hybrid settings, I loved to be able to set Facebook to something like 380 because they designed it with the elderly in mind so they can read it without their glasses..
got my 1+1! it's fucking fantastic how do i screenshot? the internet says lock button+volume down but that does not work
Hold the power button in then release to bring up the power menu, then hit screenshot
too bad it's the 2012 N7, that thing is practically unusable now
I'd still love to have one... it basically comes free with the phone
too bad it's the 2012 N7, that thing is practically unusable now
2012 N7 is far from unusable. I'm running 4.4.4 quite happily on it. (Still no Lollipop due to lack of GSM factory image)
I like SwiftKey compact keyboard mode, it makes swiping words easier on larger phones when holding it on one hand.
got my 1+1! it's fucking fantastic how do i screenshot? the internet says lock button+volume down but that does not work
Press lock button and volume down at the same time or add it to your power menu by doing this: Settings > buttons > power menu > select screenshot

And will I be able to update to the official Lollipop version once it does come out? Is it really worth it to put Lollipop on it now or should I just wait
1+1 battery life by 50%, looking good. The Nexus 5 would be at 20% by now... Got home after school.
got my 1+1! it's fucking fantastic how do i screenshot? the internet says lock button+volume down but that does not work
On 1+1 screenshot should be under the power menu (hold down power button)
Speaking of the 1+1, does anyone have a good guess or know what is going to happen with their black friday page? http://oneplus.net/blackfriday/ One of my friends got one and has been saying really good things about it so..

They only make like a few dollars in profits (according to an interview with the CEO a while back) so I'm not sure how they can handle slashing prices now.

I could pretty much just sell my nexus 5 and throw an extra £20 in the pot for one. I've heard it's a decent upgrade from the Nexus 5 too.

my friend bought a 1+1 today and said he would give me the invite. is it better than the G3?
my friend bought a 1+1 today and said he would give me the invite. is it better than the G3?
I'd say so. I'd sell my G3 for a OPO in a heartbeat. Does anyone else have issues with G3 Tweakbox? Whenever I enable it, my battery goes to shit.
my friend bought a 1+1 today and said he would give me the invite. is it better than the G3?
Make sure its compatible with your service provider
