I have an HTC One X that won't turn on.
Any way to wipe a broken phone? I want to sell it to one of those phone recycling companies but I don't want to risk them somehow extracting any information from the phone. I had a friend who couldn't wipe his broken phone and after he sent the phone to be recycled, his friends started to get emails and texts saying he was stuck abroad and needed money wired to a suspicious account.

Is there a fastboot option for the One X? If there is, then you can wipe the phone using ADB.

first battery i've seen which actually ships internationally
Do Samsung sell their "official" batteries? I want an extra battery for my S3 to have in my bag if I happen to run out when I need to use the phone.
If not, what are some good batteries for it? I don't want a bigger one than the current one size-wise.
You're complaining about that? I have 100 MB per month on my phone :v:
What data plan is that? I think you could get a better one in simyo, which is 750 MB with 4€ per month. It's pretty neat.

Also, a question. Is 4.1 as customizable as 4.2? Are there much differences?

Oh, thanks! I was just looking for an extended S3 battery that actually comes with a compatible TPU case. Although I'm still deciding whether I'd rather carry around an Anker external.
I don't even have 3G and I just got text messaging last week.

Won't even go into fastboot.
I was thinking something along the lines of opening it up and physically connecting to the flash memory or something.

Yeah I have a really cheap plan that simyo released not long ago.. I don't really use my phone much when I'm out, so I don't think I've ever even reached 100 MB.
Android OS reaching 2h of CPU time in the background and draining my battery
blarghhhh
Something isn't right. Grab BetterBatteryStats off XDA and let it run for a full charge.
Huh. This is weird.
I have the latest cwm, but I status 7 when updating CM10.
I'd install rom manger but it gives me the insufficient space error on that app only.
Any ideas?

Flash TWRP recovery instead. I find that CWM is really buggy.
Snip box me

Excellent survey :I
Asurion are the guys that replaced my phone
Want to sell my Nexus 4, I want that Htc One.
Been talking to a guy in my year at uni who's an iOS user.
This entire week's been me talking him down from the suicide-cliff after he realized how much customization iOS lacks, over Android.
I think I might have almost pushed him into switching to a Galaxy S4 now, but at least he's stepped off the edge of the cliff now.
Gr! Now I'm getting getprop r.bootloader errors. What am I doing wrong?

Ah, okay, you're still on an ICS bootloader. You need to upgrade to a JB bootloader.
See this post
EDIT: that post gives you a method to directly flash the bootloader which can brick your phone if the flash fails. A safer but more time-consuming method would be to flash STOCK ICS again (without touching the bootloader) and then do an official OTA upgrade to STOCK JB, then you'll have a new bootloader.

How would one flash improperly? :ohdear:
Or is this just a terminal emulator DD flash?

To directly flash the bootloader you need to use ODIN, so it needs to be done through USB. If your computer shuts off or the cable disconnects somehow, the flash will fail. (Some people only do ODIN flashes on a fully charged laptop just in case of a power outage.)

Got the app installed, I'm gonna try to not touch my phone and let it drain.
It got this so far in an hour:

Jump into the partial wakelocks section. PowerManagerService is just a placeholder for those entries, if I'm not mistaken.
What are some cool personalization apps? For customizing my home screens and/or lock screen?
