restart your phone every few days for now

Yeah, Lollipop has some memory management bugs in stock builds. Seems like Google set the minfree values way too low...
Am I correct to assume the bugs present in Lollipop will require an OTA update, and not a Play Services update or anything like that?

correct, ota update needed
Well I bought a g2 off ebay.
FYI 1+1 purchasing doesn't require an invite for the next 3 days or so because of black Friday sales. On their website, there is also a sale on various accessories.
You had me all excited.
I clicked buy.
OUT OF STOCK.
Both devices :(

Well it did say while quantities last. Although invites will still work because that is guaranteed stock.
So I just read a few articles that said the cyanogen mod team aren't going to be working with Oneplus anymore?
Hopefully they'll just use stock android or something for their later phones. Don't think i'll upgrade to a 1+2 though.
Ok, I've been told that Z3c is unlocked, but it's still full of telstra crap, I'll have to wait xmas to root it out, may need some help and guidelines with that.
Is the Audio DAC in the Z3 as good as the one in the old HiMD minidiscs?

Maybe they will use PA instead. From what I've seen and heard, the current 4.4.4 builds on PA for the 1+1 looks pretty good.

basically cm inc signed an exclusivity deal with micromax or someone for india, meaning after the launch of 1+1, they won't actually be able to update cm11s on it
oneplus is moving their internal android team to work on those builds, so its very likely the 1+2 will use oneplus android, rather than cm

a.k.a. CM is being retarded
whatever, the deal only affects India in which if people wanted to update, it's hilariously easy to root and unlock the bootloader (I assume). If people really wanted OTAs, they could import it from elsewhere.
And whenever OnePlus actually forms up their internal Android team and make something, this could mean less shitty software/OS.

Uh not sure if there is a locked bootloader root method yet, if you unlock the bootloader and root, you will lose DRM keys for the camera. If anything, the apps might be able to uninstalled straight from your app list or google play app list.

Nope you have to at least root the phone and there's no root methods without unlocking the bootloader that know of for Xperia Z3c.
So to fix the telstra logo I fuck up the phone's camera.... great
I'm stuck with a paper weight. Thanks telstra you assholes.
Is there a chance someone will find a work around in a few months?
Otherwise I'll just sell it and get another one on ebay in Jan.
Edit:
So after reading up a bit apparently the G3 is not exactly a seamless experience, it's laggy at times according to many reviews?
What's a good ROM to put on my g2 that's coming in if my priorities are battery life, then customization? Outside of my s4 I haven't had any experience with ROMs since my old droid 2 and Liberty ROM (rip)
The G3 is receiving the Android 5.0 update in the coming weeks, so I'd wait a little and see if there are any performance improvements or issues upon release.

To be honest the stock rom is the best one there is for G2, unless you don't care about losing features by flashing stock Android. The battery life already is quite excellent on the phone too.
You can find modified versions of the stock rom that remove bloat and stuff, though I recommend CloudyG3 rom which is the G3 stock rom ported to G2. I'm currently using it and it's perfect.

They're working on it, is that logo really that bothersome?

Well, I need a phone. Got it anyway. If It's rubbish it will be going back.
Apparently even if you have a 1+1 invite, when you actually go pay for it, it goes to the Black Friday sale thingy and doesn't let you actually pay for it. What.
They're working on it, is that logo really that bothersome?
That's what I was thinking. Is waiting a couple months to get rid of a logo really worth selling it or considering it a paper weight?
thanks for the 1+1 invite, anonymous! unfortunately i was out of town when you sent it to me and it expired...
i would have declined it anyways, as i am only a broke high school student.
PA for the G2 is pretty nice, haven't tried any other roms though. I think battery life does take a slight hit.

Has it always been broken like this?
Note the "Sort by Name" when it should be "Sort by Size".

Considering getting this as a power bank. It's small and you can swap the batteries out, you can buy 3400mAh batteries for it. Supposedly gets 1.8A output on the latest version. Not a bad deal.
Have you guys been able to connect your phone to a TV and play San Andreas with a keyboard and mouse?
