Android OS what are you doing

It's usually under the Screen on the battery usage stats.
So I bought an Asus Me572. If you know the Memo Pad line you know they're usually budget tablets with low resolution screens. The Me572 was announced in September and you can think of it like a Memo Pad that went through puberty. Or, the Nexus 7's long-lost relative.

It's got a 1920x1200 display at 7 inches, 64bit quad-core intel CPU, blah blah blah.
I'll do a review on it when I've had it for longer.
For now though, I'm wondering if it has a secret notification LED like the Nexus 9 turned out to have. This is what I suspect is the LED. It looks very similar to my Nexus 5's LED, but less visible.

What's the point of this if it isn't used? Are they planning to make it work when the tablet is updated to Lollipop? And no, it is not the ambient light sensor because the ambient light sensor is next to the front camera.
Is it possible that Samsung use pentile pixels to make cheaper AMOLED displays?
it's easier for them to increase the ppi when using pentile.
Get some monoprice 8320s, you can't beat them for the price.
Thanks, I might get those. My Sony pair only plays in one ear :(
This is interesting:
Note: For best results these earphones should be broken in by playing pink noise through them for about 24 hours. The difference in sound quality before and after the pink noise break-in period can be quite dramatic.
Do you think that's true and worth doing?

No
I just bought a Sony Xperia Z3 after comparing it with the LG G2, and deciding the design and an extra gig of ram was a fair trade off with the lower resolution screen.
It's a neat phone and Sony put some thought in all the extra tidbits in the software (even though it looks disgusting in some places). The "small apps" that go over your open application for basic multitasking are useless and I wish Sony just went with a multi-windowed thingy instead.
The phone is fragile as fuck. It has a glass front and back so it will scratch and break very easily. I went ahead and bought tempered glass protectors for it after the back had a scratch after sitting in my cupholder.
The stock app doesn't support group messaging so I have to use Textra or Hangouts. When I recieve some MMS messages though, they don't come through and simply will not download. T-Mobile gave me a new SIM and I have full bars, so I don't know. It's frustrating.
All in all, I'm just waiting for people to unlock the bootloader on the T-Mobile variant so we can get some phat roms on this bad boi.

The NSA will tell you what it's for when they want to, and not a moment sooner.

Hmm, yeah. After more research, there is a break-in effect, mostly detectable only in large headphones, but you don't really need to purposely break them in.
This is interesting though:

Look how much the 80 Hz changes... wow
Yeah, break in is a thing that happens, but nothing you need to accelerate unless you're trying to make a quick decision on keeping a pair.
break in is not a thing that happens on in ear monitors. or headphones to any useful extent
don't worry about it.
Your best bet would get a used phone. You can probably get a Nexus 4 for under 200 and it's better than Moto G and E.
I can get Nexus 4 new for an extra 50 bucks, and I don't think my mom would be happy about me getting a used phone. Also is this a response to 1080 hd or to me not having a clue on what I should be looking for in a phone?
Can someone help me find a good 200 dollar phone? Australian and unlocked. I am getting a new phone for christmas and I want a good one.
[editline]5th December 2014[/editline]
Oh and a good cheap one, I want to see the options out there.

To be honest, I have no clue on what I should be looking for in a phone. I just need an upgrade from my old button slide-up phone.
Also is getting a phone that is 1080 HD under 200 impossible? Just curious.
Anyone?

Not bad. Screen on time is 8 hours.
Too bad I don't like in ear ones.
You're not going to get any good earbuds that aren't IEMs.
You're not going to get any good earbuds that aren't IEMs.
then I guess I'll stick with the other ones I like, full headphones..
Koss KSC75 are great if you want something that will fit in your pocket.

For anything half decent roughly in your price range. your options really are moto G or Nexus 4. I personally think the Moto E is too much of a step down from Moto G for the price.

The Nexus 4 has a 720p screen. I would find it highly unlikely you will be able to get a 1080p phone for 200 and definitely not new.
Anyone?
Not sure if you guys remember that design contest hosted by Fleksy I posted earlier? Well, they just sent me this: (part of the email)

Congrats though
So my g2 got here, but the g3 is still on its way. Should I mess around with the g2 to make sure nothing is wrong with it before I resell it?
What was that app or thing that you can install that disables wifi based on gps/location/what wifi networks are in range?

yup. my friend was rubbing it all over his face when he got it.
The sandstone black back feels better than you think. Have it in your hands and you'll see and feel how your initial feelings were off and it feels way better than you thought
Source: the hundreds of people I've handed the 1+1 to by now.

Apparently there are two versions of the sandstone black back. The first one feels more grittier like sandpaper while the second one feels softer and more like velvet. This shift seems to have happened sometime in the summer production months. People say it was in August. I've compared my friends 1+1 which he got in like July and there is a difference, as stated above. He thinks the second version feels better and I agree :v: If you get one now, you will almost certain get the second gen back.
The feeling also seems to stay there for very long. People that have used it naked for several months now say that the back got softer, so it feels better and hasn't seen or felt major changes overtime. That and you can easily find the back plate online for like $10 to replace. And with a recent AMA on Reddit, OnePlus said that they are going to do a come back with the custom backs. I forgot what happened the first time, I guess they ran out of stock or some other production/quality issue. This will roll out later in early 2015.
What's a half decent DJ app?
I have a N7 2012, is it worth flashing lollipop? I'm using some shitty XDA KK rom atm.
What'd be the best way to do it? Nexus Root Toolkit and the official file from Google?
I have a very reproducible "forced reboot" problem, where if I set my phone down face-up on the back of my toilet, it crashes and reboots.
I may be in some deep shit this time boys
