Location services seem to be a major battery hog on a lot of devices, thankfully not on my Nexus 4. Maybe it has to do with OEM customizations/different HW breaking it? And not even AOSP based ROMs can't fix it because they have to base their ROM on OEM sources.

generic question, but did you take the case off and try without it?
generic question, but did you take the case off and try without it?
Yeah, same thing with or without the case. I just now popped it off to try vol-down again and got nothing, so I set it down and the volume shot down to vibrate on its own. I'm guessing it's a bad connection somewhere inside, although the thing has never seen any sort of physical violence. [editline]2nd June 2013[/editline] Funny how it happens to both vol-down and power, though. I might just go for an RMA.
What games for android do you guys recommend? Preferably free if possible. I have a xperia v
Pixel Dungeon Plauge Inc Carmageddon (Not free, but worth the two bucks if you like driving over cows) I'v not had any experience with a Xperia V, but the two first are free so worth a try
if you like driving over cows
c.. cows? Are you telling me I was not supposed to kill 11342 people?
I almost beat every map with at least 1 way of finishing in Carmagaddon.
My question still remains, what are some good personalization apps? Wallpapers, widgets, launchers, lock screens, etc...?
I recommend Nova Launcher
Wallpaper changer and apex.
I need two launchers so might as well download both. :v: Wallpaper changer looks like a nice app. But is its only function to shuffle between your pictures/folder with images? I suppose it could come in handy, dunno if it will work properly though.
Makes a slideshow out of your wallpapers. Why do you need two launchers??
is it true that the HTC wildfire doesn't have a gpu?
Makes a slideshow out of your wallpapers. Why do you need two launchers??
PadFone. That is one thing which is bothering me. If I download a launcher, it won't scale properly when I put the phone into my station. It still keeps the phone layout, which are gigantic and pixelated. So I need to download one launcher which keeps track of when a launcher should be used, and I need to download two more launchers which the first launcher will use for tablet and phone mode. [editline]2nd June 2013[/editline] So I need three launchers, actually. :v:
is it true that the HTC wildfire doesn't have a gpu?
Yup. It has the MSM7225, which came out just before they started adding the Adreno 200 GPU to Snapdragon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snapdragon_(system_on_chip)#Snapdragon_S1
is it true that the HTC wildfire doesn't have a gpu?
I used to have one, no it doesn't, and yes it sucked.
Even the SK17a looks at the HTC Wildfire and just shakes its head.
my potato has adreno 205, yay yes it sucks
gary what decade is your contract going to allow you to upgrade again
gary what decade is your contract going to allow you to upgrade again
The contract allows me to "upgrade" but there's no way in hell I'm sticking with Rogers. Probably gonna go for Wind because they will probably advertise their $30 unlimited talk/text/data plan again in September. I doubt the nexus 4 will get an update of any kind so I'll probably get a Nexus 4 and buy it "subsidized" with Wind Tab since I doubt I will change phones for the next year or two. Plus a year from now plus a few weeks, I'd be graduating from high school.
so you're telling me we only have a couple months to run the SK17a joke to the ground again for the 16th time?
so you're telling me we only have a couple months to run the SK17a joke to the ground again for the 16th time?
Pretty sure it's been run through more grounds than that bro [editline]2nd June 2013[/editline] And yes, it's either a few months or until Christmas or something.
what does this mean
I know I'm late with the answer, but battery percentage in the status bar (accurate to 1%)
still looking for an sms app, go sms had a security breach of some sort and lots of people got spam sms and I'm getting bored of the app and the notifications are still messed up. Like I get the notification in the notification bar, when I tap it, it opens the app and then another notification shows up with the same notification I just clicked on. Very annoying.
Why don't you grab a Nexus 4 now for cheap off Craigslist, and use it for when you inevitably switch over to WIND? It'll work all the same, and it's a capable phone that'll last you a long time if your potato is still satisfying you.

Sure I could probably buy it and stuff but my parents are like, "You don't need it" for a faster phone among other things.
I have a wildfire, I haven't even bothered trying anything remotely intensive This thing has frozen up and hanged while trying to answer a call
woooooooooooooo https://blog.twitter.com/2013/vine-android-every-robot-has-its-day
remind me why is this exciting again
Wait, isn't Vine that thing that was basically Instagram, except for short videos, and even more stupid? Meh, I guess there has to be some part of the Android userbase that likes that, but it's not me. But it's nice to see companies actually bother to make an app on the platform, instead of just ignoring it.
