You should. CyanogenMod ROMs are superior in every way.
Absolutely. Not a single other ROM has any feature up on any ROM to have ever come out of CyanogenMod.
You should. CyanogenMod ROMs are superior in every way.
Not on the Nexus 5 when I used PA instead.
Any update on when the One M8 is getting Lollipop?
They said first week of january for the M7 and M8.
You should. CyanogenMod ROMs are superior in every way.
including the shitty development cycles and team
Honestly I think OmniRom, PA, and Slim are better than CM as far as the ROM itself goes. CM's device support still beats the rest, but if you have a Nexus no point in using CM IMO.
Has anyone run the official CM12 with the Nexus 6 yet? Curious about what doesn't work.
anyone know if there's some sort of deadline or something that apps should switch over to material design? facebook and instagram don't have the coloured status bar, i think twitter is like the only widely used app that does and it's making me go crazy for some reason

There never has and there never will unless Google changes their Play Store policies reflecting it.

Google doesn't and won't enforce it at all.
So new to Android, let me get this straight (for the record I'm using an old n7000) I'm currently on Gingerbread (2.x whatever) and I'm trying to update to Jelly bean (4.2.2?) or even Kitkat if I could find a good tutorial on that Would y'all recommend the Slim Bean Rom for this? First time rooting & flashing, don't really want to fuck this up. Then again I don't care all that much because this is a temporary loaner phone that I'll replace in the next few months once I make a decision on what to buy.. There seems to be a ton of guides from searching, but the information is a bit overwhelming/scattered for me..
Slim bean is pretty alright. Switching the runtime to ART in the developer options seemed to help my similarly-aged Galaxy Tab 2 in smoothness (running the newest Cyanogenmod 4.4.4 nightly).
I tried googling my phone, and my phone should upgradeable to 4.1.2 but it's not. When I do try updating it it's stuck on Gingerbread I want to update to kitkat but I only see guides to upgrade the GT-N7000? I can't seem to figure out the differences the guides seem to say you need the dual core variant of the first Note, but googling it my model (SGH-i7I7) has a dual core too
Doesn't art fuck with cyanogenmod?

Some of these phones had quad-core variants, but they weren't in the Americas, so don't worry about it. The main thing you need to do is install a custom recovery partition like CWM. Then you can flash whatever ROM you want. It seems that most of the Kitkat guides assume you have that anyway, so its a good place to start. It looks like the method you will use is ODIN. I'm still bummed I can't root my G3. I really want to, but I can't find a way for the life of me.
Google doesn't mandate shit like Apple does dude
I really wish they'd force apps to adopt at least basic design updates.
Apparently my "Android OS" battery drain was caused by my new WiFi router. Now I changed the beacon interval from 100 to 300ms, hopefully it helps. Also, what's the best tablet keyboard? The stock Asus one is a bit too aggressive in its autocorrect, and there are no Emojis.

I can't find Google keyboard in the play store, so I'll give swiftkey a try
don't know why I was rated dumb I don't see why my phone should have a million design inconsistencies, hopefully it's something that will change in the future
Apple has a more strict policy and all that for apps and app design while Google doesn't really care :v: the inconsistencies are annoying but Material Design might help with it. Although even Google are not following Material Design for some of their updated "Material" apps.
Not as of last time I tried. The Dec 10th OTA update for Verizon borked every way I could try.
Shit, forgot all the real devs ran off when Bump! was copied and released outside of their service. You'd probably have to downgrade, root and recovery so you can flash newer roms and be able to root through flashing. There's a hidden verizon original development forum that's not advertised, you can find a bump'd TWRP in there for it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/orig-development Fucking pity the LG devs all blew up or died, LG G2 development is still a broken mess and was flipped upside down for the 3rd time since we never really went that stable with KitKat or Jelly Bean.. I absolutely love my phone but the 3rd party community makes me wish I could tolerate a stock rom.
don't know why I was rated dumb I don't see why my phone should have a million design inconsistencies, hopefully it's something that will change in the future
It won't change. It's the nature of the Google app ecosystem which is fairly open that allows for this. Google isn't likely to change this, all they will do is suggest to developers and make it easier for developers to adopt their design guidelines.
don't know why I was rated dumb I don't see why my phone should have a million design inconsistencies, hopefully it's something that will change in the future
Unfortunately it won't ever change. Changing that would mean Google would have to start implementing mandatory app design rules, which is partially why many don't like iOS in the first place. Its the price to pay for freedom in the platform.
Got my OnePlus One today, need to wait for a new SIM card though. It's my first Android device, old phone being a Nokia using Symbian OS so I don't know much. Looking for recommendations on good software or other things I should do.
