Are there any custom ROMs with a method of app switching as neat and quick as the iPad's 4-finger swipe or the Windows 8 method (can't remember how it's done but I remember it was good)?
I am running ICS on my note (GT-7000 T-Mobile.de) atm. As it seems JB got released and since I got ICS flashed onto my phone I cannot update via KIES.
So I probably have to flash JB on it, but as far is a read all ICS Kernel are unsafe. Since I never flashed before could someone point me in the right direction [sp]or maybe even help me[/sp] because I really don't want a Brick in my hands.

Flash that stock 4.0.4 firmware, afterwards you should be able to update to JB if it's available.
Though Sammobile doesn't list a JB rom for your device, so it hasn't been released yet either way.

According to this thread, from which I know the guy that flashed my phone got the rom from, there are already stock JB roms

But then could i flash directly to 4.1.2

Those aren't for your device. You're on T-Mobile, not DBT.
I have about 800 messages and I don't get too much lag.
Okay what apps to back up them?
Oh and what app that's a good sms counter so I know how much I've sent?

I see, however I have the XLPY build on my phone atm, which is from DBT and is working.

If you have no problem flashing it I'm not going to stop you. Get the latest DBT rom from sammobile and get JB.
You shouldn't have any problem updating to JB through Kies either, as you're on official stock firmware, and DBT has released their JB builds.

I tried with kies already, but since it is routed it tells me I have a not supported rom.

Ah right. Well just flash the sammobile update then.

I take it with odin, and you can assure me this won't turn my phone into a brick, because of all this "unsafe kernel yadda yadda"

The unsafe kernel yadda yadda has nothing to do with these official builds. They are official therefore safe.
Restart phone in download mode (home + power + volume down).
Start Odin on your computer
Click PDA and add the unzipped firmware
Connect your device using your usb cable
Open up taskmanager and kill all kies processes (kies, kies_pldr, ktrayAgent etc)
Press start and wait for your device to restart, then disconnect your device
If your device appears to be stuck on boot, no worries. Simply hold your power button to turn off your device, and turn it back on. Devices often have trouble booting up after an update for some reason. It can still take some time before your device is past the bootscreen, this is normal.

I know I am kinda nit picking here, but while downloading the new rom I stumbled up on this. According to this sticky in the XDA forums I should not flash anything with those unsafe Kernels, I guess I won't be running anything else.

There's an app that comes pretty close. GMD kinda has that feature, 4 finger swipe left and right switches apps in order of the recent list, plus some other gestures. It makes a far better app when you turn off show notifications in the app info.
Next browser got an update, now has disappearing address bar and more.

UCCW is basically the widget you wanted because you can do literally everything with it
Tasker is a great app that lets you do whatever the hell you want with your phone too, like set your phone to vibrate on work wi-fi or something
what have you done to me oh god the customisation

That's your decision.

Wait what are you talking about, that says ics builds, you're flashing a jb build.
I would use Sliding Messenger, but I think the sheer number of Messages I have is what is causing the constant slowdown and crashes. I currently have 30k messages saved since February.
Yeah, I had that problem. Deleted old messages and now sliding messaging is crazy quick.
Still has MMS issues though

Yes I am flashing a JB build, but my current build is said ICS build that is affectec.
I already found a solution to fix the Kernel, just no idea which "safe" kernel i need to choose. After this is done, I can cleanly flash the JB on it.
EDIT:
Kernel flashed, phone feels now way faster...
Now JB Stock or a CM10.1 Nightly build, hmm.

Apple won't be happy about this.

Finally upgraded from my shitty Ascend to a less shitty Premia (yay for rebates). Holy hell, this thing is a million times better than my old Ascend. It's so nice being able to actually text, and the newer Android version is spiffy as hell too
Could I download the .apk of a incompatible app for my phone? Or is it truly incompatible, just like Play says?
Could I download the .apk of a incompatible app for my phone? Or is it truly incompatible, just like Play says?
It wouldn't hurt. It worked for me a few times on my old Android phone. Worst that will happen is that it won't launch or the apk installer will just say "this app isn't compatible" if you need a newer Android version. Though, often times its not compatible for a good reason.
I've heard somewhere that Play often mistakes that or something. That the app is usually compatible even though it says not.
Some glu mobile games were "incompatible" for my phone on the play store so I used market helper to say my phone was an s3. The game downloaded, installed and ran fine.
I copied the .apk for Snapchat from my girlfriend's phone to my Nexus 7, since the store says it's incompatible. It mostly works, except you have to hold it upside down to take photos.
