Well look at it this way. Nova Prime has had 500,000 - 1,000,000 installs in the past month. (I'm one of them, for the record.) Now, that's not purchases, but even if 250,000 of those installs were brand new purchases, that's a million gross. Google takes 30% IIRC so the Nova developers are left with $700,000 of cold-hard cash. In just the past 30 days, ballpark. Volume is everything.
How can they possible earn from that? They need 100 thousands of buyers :S
And some get into the millions
The mobile market is still growing and successful developers have made a lot of money because their app is a few bucks
Volume is everything.
That's the secret then? :)
Yeah, basically. Think of it this way: Apple has sold half a billion iOS devices An app in the App Store has a lot of potential customers.
Is it ok if I post here about a app I put on the Play Store?
I'm looking to get back onto IRC and waste my entire summer chatting on them. Best IRC Client for Android that's also free?

Anybody else's Google Music now suddenly refusing to play anything? Every time I try to play any track it just says "No space available" even though I have several gigabytes free on both the phone itself and the sdcard, I've tried reinstalling, deauthorizing and then reauthorizing, disabling cache while playing, no luck Any help?
No problems on my potato, I've updated to the latest version version last night. Some other users had force closing issues as seen on reddit.
ayo did you get your moga and is it good
I posted about it already, did you miss it? Controller is nice, analog sticks have a little too much travel. Software is pretty shit though, the HID mode doesn't work on my phone (just stops working after 2 seconds). The software can be fixed though with the MOGA Universal Driver on the playstore, it recently added support for the MOGA Pro. Since the controller itself is nice, you can pair it with the universal drivers, and it basically functions as an Xbox 360 Controller for mobile phones. In short its a nice controller, official drivers are shit, unofficial drivers are perfect buy it. oh, and the unofficial drivers only work well if you are rooted which you should be anyway.

I made a live wallpaper if anyone wants to check it out.
Is it ok if I post here about a app I put on the Play Store?
Yes If it's shit we'll chew you up [editline]15th June 2013[/editline]
I made a live wallpaper if anyone wants to check it out.
I remember you. You made that 3d wallpaper thingy. Wow I see you've gotten a thousand sales in the last couple of days because of the sale. Nice. [editline]15th June 2013[/editline] Or thousands, not quite sure how the graph works.

They have a new feature which is similar to these 3d wallpapers. If you look at similar apps you'll notice that they all have a huge spike in sales.
guys could you check what permissions does your hosts file have? it's in system/etc
-rw-r--r-- on the HTC One.

My potato is not fast enough to handle fancy live wallpapers. Also, my mom just managed to break her S3 by dropping it on the floor from about chest height, two month after she got it. Now there is this tiny crack in the lower right corner and the screen won't turn on. It's hard to see on the picture but it's not actually the main glass that's broken but the layer under that instead. Meanwhile, my potato is still alive after being flung across the room several times.
So I found out what's causing battery drain! It was goddamn Google Latitude! I disabled location reporting, location history and that third checkbox, and now my device's battery graph is literally flatlining when left idle :D
Is there any way to get CM change song using volume buttons thingy in Stock rom but rooted? I really miss that function but I don't want to change roms for now becacuse of recent near hardbrickedmyphone experience.
Yes If it's shit we'll chew you up
Fair enough, criticism is really needed to improve a project. Any kind of response at this stage would be amazing. So to sum up this app is graduation project, it's essentially a simplified launcher for elderly people. It has a big colorfull buttons for all the main features of what people usually expect from a phone. It also has a SOS slider which sends an SMS with the phone's location and a speaker phone call to an emergency contact. It can receive SMS commands, by sending an SMS to the phone with "<PIN> <COMMAND>" (default pin is 0000 and to ask all command via SMS use the command COM, so to ask the phone for all command you'd send an SMS with "0000 COM") to ask for the phone's location, battery status, activity report, etc., it detects falls using the accelerometer (though right now it causes some battery drain, so I recommend you set it off) and few more things that I'm forgetting right now. It can, of course, all be turned on/off feature-by-feature. Here's a little video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovhqyKRtQqM and on the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pt.protegeipl.launcher It does have multi-language support, but only Portuguese and English right now.

Can bad shit happen if you just pull out your USB cable while the sdcard is still mounted? Because I always make sure to safe eject and shit like that but is that really necessary? [editline]15th June 2013[/editline] Also what do those V6 supercharger scripts actually do? Do they really work? [editline]15th June 2013[/editline] Also, holy shit XDA OP's all look awful and cluttered, I can't fucking figure this shit out.
