Is there any decent Anti-Virus software that won't slow down my games.

Turn off on-access scanning or 'resident protection' or whatever the fuck it's called.
Comodo or MSSE

So essentially abandon the whole point of downloading one of those virus scanners. If you want something like that, ClamAV.
Comodo has a 'Game Mode', and if it's Steam games you get random staggering on, add a on-access scan/resident scan/whatever exception to *\Steam\appcache\stats.
I use Nod32 and never found any performance hits.
I don't use an antivirus and I haven't for many years, and not once have I gotten any sort of virus or worm because I don't go downloading and running every other thing.

And anything I'm not sure about, I run in my Windows VM and watch the process activity.
Taking the time to run something in a virtual machine is great, but probably too time-consuming for the average person who just wants to use their PC regularly.
Avast.
MSE, works pretty good
So for you guys Comodo is the best 7 people say so on here second place goes to MSE and third place to avast and nod32.
-snip-
Avast.
Thanks a lot everyone for the recommendations, tried out Comodo and it runs smooth as ice, not a hitch so far ^^. I'll give Avast a try next I've heard a ton of brilliant things about it espicially about how fast and efficient it's detection system is, this is the first time I've actually heard of Comodo but so far it's pretty darn brilliant.
I heard Common Sense 2011 is quite light on resources.
Way to be an ass if you'd read my message in the OP, you'll realise I already take precautions when using my PC for instance NoScript and AdBlockerPlus on my FireFox pretty much ensure I won't get any shit through the net, and I have the common sense to avoid pages that'll give me viruses
The main issue is I have in fact once or twice gotten stuff through temporary game files and other such random unexpected situations have given me trojans, few times I've ran MalewareBytes and discovered Maleware even when I haven't touched my PC in ages, so I'd rather prefer an antivirus to be on the safeside, and to get rid of anything that still might be on my PC from having no antivirus for so long (which as you might be aware would potentially slow down my PC speed more so then having an antivirus probably would).
what comodo are you guys talking about
Comodo Internet Security
Comodo Antivirus
Comodo Firewall
Why do you need the AV running when you play games? Unless you go to FPSBanana through the steam overlay, I don't see the need for it.

Pretty much the same here, but I keep clamAV handy because I like to collect samples for entertainment purposes.
