I have some big irons at home, but can't take any pictures since I'm at work. One is a Dual PIII 1400, 2 GB RAM with a single 300 GB IDE drive. The other is a quad P4 Xeon 3200 with 6 GB RAM and 6 x 36.7 GB SCSI-320 drives in RAID 5 running FC12. Both weigh more than 50 lbs when fully equipped.

Anything that big, shipping is probably going to be $50 on up, depending on how heavy it is.

I see mention of 64-bit PCI slots. if you are lucky you can toss in a Fiber channel card and tun terabytes of storage on top of whatever you can biuld out of the SCSI-3 that's biult-in. Of course, you will be bottlenecked like fuck from the processors.

The goal is to have a server worth its weight in horsepower, those things are so old that a Pentium MMX 233 with a Voodoo3 can run circles around it.

I have a 5U Quad Itanium @ 800 MHz with 6 GB of RAM that weighs 240 lb, a 4U Quad Xeon 3.2 GHz with 6 GB of RAM that weighs 150 LB and several dual socket & dual core desktop servers that weigh 70+ lb.

But if you really want to play that game, I used to run a DEC-VAX machine that was 8 cabinets that weighed several tons, had a line conditioner the size of two deep freezers stacked on each other and a dedicated air conditioner the same size. The 20 MB hard drives them selves weighed several hundred pounds each.
