When did this turn into a "post my server" thread?
When everybody started posting their servers.

Why the fuck can't I have one? WHY? WHY? [editline]07:09PM[/editline] Seriously though, a fan died and it over heated on mine :saddowns:
Lucky bastard.
Is the motherboard underneath a PCI backplane? Looks like they have a huge amount of expansion potential.
Looks like an SBC-based system. I don't think it has a mainboard, just a backplane.
Wow, awesome find. I am inspired to search my attic now.
Damn, I wish I had something like that. If you're not going to use it, how much for shipping to North Carolina?
I got given this by a friend, its a company write off so it cannot be legally sold, only handed around lol. Use it to host gmod, l4d2, l4d, teamspeak 2 & 3, CSS. There what I have installed atm. Run it during the day. It can manage 300-400+ barrels exploding on gmod before lag and the cpu's hit 80-100%? Runs Server Ubuntu ... Soon to be Debian when I can be Arsed 2 x 1.4Ghz PIII 3GB Ram 2x 36.4GB SCSI Also sounds like a jet engine XD Theres another kicking around but its not a good, bigger and louder. Sorry about massive images =/ [img_thumb]http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/913/p1000656x.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/9346/p1000655s.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/6126/p1000654.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/5621/p1000651d.jpg[/img_thumb]
frigging lucky with your 1U server :( (that's like 1.75 inches in height or something) mine requires 3 people to move :(
Damn, I wish I had something like that. If you're not going to use it, how much for shipping to North Carolina?
My guess is it'd be absolutely outrageous unless its something smaller, even then it'd have to be pretty small.
I have some big irons at home, but can't take any pictures since I'm at work. One is a Dual PIII 1400, 2 GB RAM with a single 300 GB IDE drive. The other is a quad P4 Xeon 3200 with 6 GB RAM and 6 x 36.7 GB SCSI-320 drives in RAID 5 running FC12. Both weigh more than 50 lbs when fully equipped.
Damn, I wish I had something like that. If you're not going to use it, how much for shipping to North Carolina?
Anything that big, shipping is probably going to be $50 on up, depending on how heavy it is.
Thet brings me back to the days when I was still running everything on a "hack and whack" server I built into the closet. Years later I now run everything off an HP Proliant ML370 G3 Mmmmm. Xeon..... I see mention of 64-bit PCI slots. if you are lucky you can toss in a Fiber channel card and tun terabytes of storage on top of whatever you can biuld out of the SCSI-3 that's biult-in. Of course, you will be bottlenecked like fuck from the processors. Edit:
I have some big irons at home
Son, your "big iron" is nothing compared to my shit.
Looks expensive.

I have a 5U Quad Itanium @ 800 MHz with 6 GB of RAM that weighs 240 lb, a 4U Quad Xeon 3.2 GHz with 6 GB of RAM that weighs 150 LB and several dual socket & dual core desktop servers that weigh 70+ lb. But if you really want to play that game, I used to run a DEC-VAX machine that was 8 cabinets that weighed several tons, had a line conditioner the size of two deep freezers stacked on each other and a dedicated air conditioner the same size. The 20 MB hard drives them selves weighed several hundred pounds each.
