Am I the only one this has never happened to?
Probably not. Mine happened because stuff always puts pressure on whatever's plugged into the USB port. And the tabs eventually broke from fatigue. Good thing the two on the other side work perfectly. And these ones still work, but are a bit more sensitive, since nothing is holding them in place.
I haven't had it happen on any other system.
somehow dell thought it would be a good idea to mount a motherboard upside down, and those upside-down USB ports always gets me

:argh:
What the hell are you guys doing to your USB ports to break them?
I've been extremely rough with mine, also read as, I've tried shoving USB sticks in upside down and tried forcing them in and put them in at weird angles. I have NEVER had one break like that.

Protip: A USB port is not sufficient for holding up 8 lbs of laptop.

Not with my trusty G110.
On my LCD screen, whenever there is a completely black screen, you can see blue lights at the top, bottom, left, and right sides of the screen. It's not a really bright light, but more of a glow. I think it's part of having an LCD monitor, though.

One good things about CRT's, better blacks.
nerds boxes.
those goddamn shiny screens
isn't it more expensive to make a screen look shiny?
Minecraft having creepers. Notch is the biggest asshole ever in that way. :v:

My 21" has a matte finish on the screen but it still attracts dust and fingerprints like crazy. (I have to point out alot of things to my mother and she's too blind to see my mouse)

I don't think anyone actually uses that though, Windows 7 doesn't have support for it (I think) and I don't think I've seen support for it in Linux either.
It's a pure software change, no need to change your keyboard for it.
Running Ubuntu 10.10 and I seem to have that layout enabled. Not that I would need all those characters.
Laptops that make you hold down the Fn key and use an arrow key to adjust the volume, instead of having dedicated volume buttons.
Pros have both.
Edit:
Why is this funny?
When I accidentally hit 'DS Download Play' when I start my DS and shuts down when I want to cancel it.
Did someone at Nintendo honestly think this was a good idea?

This has literally never happened to me. Mostly because I set it to automatically boot the cartridge if one is detected.
Proprietary screws.
ex. - Nintendo uses a strange 3 pronged screw

Triwings aren't proprietary. Security Torx bits aka pentalobe screws are a bitch however and only Apple uses them.
McDonalds uses triangle (Not Triwing) screws for their toys. :frown:
Triwings aren't proprietary.
No but anything that isn't a plain old standard screw should be shot.
No but anything that isn't a plain old standard screw should be shot.
Well a bullet would probably dislodge most screws but I don't want to think what that would do to the rest of whatever you're trying to disassemble.

The one in my picture of the Cooler Master Elite 330 was always kinda wiggly. If it was more firm, I assume it would be lasting longer.

Are those the torx bits with the bump in the middle? Microsoft uses them in their Xbox 360 controllers.
Triwings aren't proprietary. Security Torx bits aka pentalobe screws are a bitch however and only Apple uses them.
Security Torx is not the same as a pentalobe. Security torx is a normal torx with a cylinder in the middle, meaning it has six points. Pentalobe only has 5 "points" and that's what Apple is using and annoying us with.
iTunes, I just want to place my music in the fucking iPod and be done with it, stop making me go through all these bullshit hurdles to place them in for fuck sake.

Yeah, my monitor has that because the backlight is very bright, but the glow is constant across the screen, and my TV has backlight set to 7/9 and it's black is nearly perfect compared to when it's off.

Yeah my bad, pentalobe screws are called Security Torx Plus IPR.
Apple is like the king of proprietary bullshit
Currently stuck with this Dell prebuilt, since someone decided put a plastic clip for the CPU cooler right infront of the chipset cooler causing the chipset to reach insane temps
Was gonna install a large cooler that would be taller than this plastic part, guess what i found
They fucking hotglued the cooler on
Pants with buttons instead of a zipper.
Edit:
What the fuck, do you guys ENJOY fumbling for 30s just to get your willy in/out?
Sticky Keys.
Goddamn. Who even uses them?
Apple is like the king of proprietary bullshit
Actually they don't use that many proprietary parts/connectors.
The only real proprietary connector they use is Magsafe, might be more, but that's all I can think of.
