Pepper;28609110']*cough* DELL *cough*
I think even Microsoft designs Windows to slow down performance after so many years.
region locking how certain products only allow you to use discs made in that region (ex.DVD players)
region locking how certain products only allow you to use discs made in that region (ex.DVD players)
Got my japanese copy of Ace Combat 3 here doing nothing because both the PS2 and PS3 are region locked. PS1 isn't, but I don't have one.
to design products to break after X amount of years
"planned obsolescence". You see it a lot in cars from the 90's, where parts are JUST strong enough to stay together until your warranty bursts into flames
Especially the interiors.
the wood trim covered in plastic/rubbery stuff in my '98 camry looked awesome... til three years ago. Suddenly, EVERYTHING PEELED
Another thing that gets on my nerves With itunes, you have to repay to download songs you have already bought, so if you only have one computer, you're REALLY f*cked. [editline]14th March 2011[/editline] Thank you!
You can swear here, I won't tell your mom. Also, if you have a mobile device such as an iPhone or iPod, you can just put the music you wish to copy onto it, then transfer purchases on the other computer. It'll ask you to authorize the computer with your iTunes account. [editline]14th March 2011[/editline] Content: Steam installing Direct X9 every time I start a new game. bitch I don't want that installed, okay?
Here's one I just remembered today: Wal-Mart self-checkouts. They have this stupid little scale you HAVE to put everything on. EVERYTHING. I don't care if it's a pack of gum that won't even REGISTER on the scale or a 50lbs. bag of dog food, EVERYTHING has to go on the scale after you go through the process of scanning the dumb thing anyway. If you've scanned it, clearly, you plan on paying for it, so why the fuck do they need to confirm "Yup, yup, that's a bag of dog food"? Unless it's to keep people from scanning cheap shit to fake-out expensive shit, in which case thanks alot you cheap assclowns.
Making a Youtube video full screen and having to reload it. I have 64kbps internet.

But it was annoying with big items that didn't need to be bagged. They removed them from that store about a year or so ago, though. Maybe they got too many complaints.
Or you can email Apple and they will reauthorize every download for free.
they didn't even respond when I mailed about the $77 TV season I bought that deleted each episode after I watched them on my iPhone, then subsequently deleted the files from the computer because it felt I deleted them from the phone for a reason.
Or you can email Apple and they will reauthorize every download for free.
Still, the system is just about as dumb as DRM bullshit like SecuROM. Eh, speaking of annoying design moves :v:
Facepunch not letting us delete our own threads.

I hate how phones these days are becomming more sentient. My mother had the great idea to get the same shitty model as I. It might just be us, but we both have shit luck with battery randomly disconnecting inside the housing, and the vibrate just not working at all. So I'm at work, and god knows how my phone turns on, unlocks, adds 3 icons for the facebook app on my home screen, and changed my ringtone. It then proceeds to call my mother's phone (from contacts), which she promptly answers in the same method I called. I don't normally use of my phone during work, so the call lasted 3 hours before I looked at my phone to check my messages. Thanks fucking god calls between us are covered by the plan we're on

Oh God, KILL THEM! IT'S SKYNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTT
The DELL cases that open like a sideways clamshell. They're a bitch-tit to work inside of. :suicide: [img_thumb]http://www.yoolight.fr/lexique-internet/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/dell-dimension-8300_open.jpg[/img_thumb]
One of the old Power Mac models did this, I remember seeing one at my school (they don't update their tech too often) and thinking the opening mechanism was actually pretty cool because it meant you could work inside the computer without having to lay it down first.
Pfff, real men can fumble around inside the computer while it's still standing up.
I thought I was the only one who did that.
I hate how my Palm Pixi Plus volume is so fucking low, it's like it doesn't even have speakers
I also hate how I can't set my DS's volume low. It's either on 0 or loud.
CTRL + Enter
Fuck I meant CTRL + Esc
Here's one, Facebook deciding that user's don't use lines and making the enter key submit the update. So many triple messages...
Oh, I know the biggest, the worst asshole design move. The thing that almost makes me crap my pants in fear whenever I get something that uses it. The sort that makes me drop to my knees and shout 'WHYYYYYYY' like I'm in some sort of overly dramatic movie. It's the very bane of my existence and I will declare the day it's never used again to be an official fucking holiday. It's the only design move that has actually caused me physical harm. What I'm talking about? Hard. Plastic. Packaging. The kind that require scissors to open, while putting scissors in the exact same sort of packaging. There is literally no way of opening this shit with your bare hands without cutting yourself in some way. I don't know a single person who has opened something with this sort of packaging without hurting themselves or swearing incoherently at some point.
My headphones came in that packaging, but the back had a perforated panel that you could just rip open and pull everything out :buddy:
My headphones came in that packaging, but the back had a perforated panel that you could just rip open and pull everything out :buddy:
I just fold a part over, and bend the crease back and forth until it gets hot enough to crack the edge, then the warm plastic can be torn open by hand quite easily.
