Proprietary chargers (microusb please ffs), chiclet keyboards
It's so you have to buy a charger from the company of the device you need the charger for. Otherwise known as corporate greed. [editline]21st March 2011[/editline] Bandwidth limits.
uh 8x bandwidth had little to no effect on the performance of a 480, somehow I doubt it would make any difference to an 8800 and I doubt it would completely stop you plugging in any front panel connectors
Memory bandwidth being 8x can have quite an impact on performance in a lot of games actually. And yes, the stupid cooler on the 8800gts covered the WHOLE front panel area, with about a millimetre between it and the sockets.

oh you guys are going to love this. i have a dell xps gen 2, i bought it because they said it was very modifiable and upgradable. 4 years later my parents get me a 7800 gtx for christmas which causes me to discover my fucking computer was made so that if you ever wanted to upgrade, you'd have to buy a new one. when the stock graphics card blew it was a 3 month ordeal finding one that would work and installing it. upgradable my ass, while i'll admit i was completely inept at computers back then the main point still stands, preassembled fat cat corp computers suck balls. the moral of the story? ALWAYS BUILD YOUR OWN FUCKING COMPUTER UNLESS IT'S A LAPTOP and for god's sake don't use the laptop as your main platform. unless you're filthy fucking rich
Any company that alows ANY bright stuck or dead pixel on their screens, and/or doesnt allow trades, that dont fall into their own definition of what is a defective product. Any broken pixel makes the screen defective. I thought after a decade of production lcd screens would have worked out any of the possible ways of being defective.

A single dead pixel means that the product is not in 100% working condition and should be replaceable... iirc this was on Watchdog a few months ago in the UK.
more bandwidth except current graphics cards don't need that much bandwidth (well probably the 6990)
more bandwidth except current graphics cards don't need that much bandwidth (well probably the 6990)
Heh, whoever told me it was important is an idiot then. I know where I'll be putting my second 480 now.

I don't own a pair, though apparently the slightly better quality ones can cut through pennies. Here's a good link to a page where you can buy some good ones, there's also some videos on there too: http://www.countycomm.com/premiumshears.htm
VGA connecters with screws what turn THE WRONG WAY- annoys me so much when I spend 10 minutes undoing one of them.
You have to run two copies of excel from the start menu, I think. I just started one excel and then began a new workbook and I had what you described, but when I ran excel twice and opened the documents it worked how I got it to work. [editline]16th March 2011[/editline] Yeah that's how you do it. Excel handles windows using the windows-in-a-window method by default, and there are options to cascade them, tile them etc. (in the views ribbon) but it's not always as useful as having two separate windows. I think you can also have two separate instance windows for the same workbook but I'm not sure how that works compared to the default method. [editline]16th March 2011[/editline] Nah you can't do that, if you want the same workbook open in two views you have to have them in the same instance of excel.
I made a right-click context option to open a file in a new instance of excel. Saves me much time and rage.

Texture track pads....Nah I'll pass.
Um, no... textured trackpads rock... i loved my trackpad on my dead HP, it felt so right.
and then it wears out and you get a glossy circle on the trackpad that looks weird

The bumps are recessed and are spaced out quite a ways. It still feels weird to me since I'm used to smooth track pads, but its not unbearable or causes your fingers to get sore.
and then it wears out and you get a glossy circle on the trackpad that looks weird
mmm, no..? Not the one on my HP TX1000.
I hate textured track pads because after a while my fingertip feels like it got scraped off completely...

Don't know if it's mentioned before, seeing as I missed more than a few pages but I just hit another one. Following NPC's whose walk speed is slower than you. Walk, stop, walk, stop, walk, stop.

I'm not the first one to state this, though the Intel pushpin heatsink mount is worth mentioning again. I had an older one taken out of my desktop and wanted to put it into my server after getting some new parts... That thing took at least 5-10 minutes to install, and it's not my first by a long shot. Are screws and a piece of metal just too expensive for you Intel?
