Or NPCs who seem to actively work against you.
I'm looking at you, BF2 bots. Always chucking grenades at a tank while I'm trying to plant C4 on it. GRENADES DON'T EVEN DO MUCH DAMAGE. I swear, sometimes my allies are more of a threat than my enemies.

On the trackpad subject, I like smooth ones, AS LONG AS it's properly defined from the rest of the computer. If there's like a set-in part where the trackpad is at, or if it's a different texture slightly for the rest, or if there's even noticeable flat BARRIERS like on my Asus Eee PC netbook, then that's fine.
If it's some shit like "invisible" and is completely indistinguishable from the rest of the laptop from just touching, I hate it.

YES! Without that there's no point unless the entire fucking palm area is a touchpad. Then typing would be a nightmare
I wish they'd just get rid of touchpads.

While I wouldn't use them for gaming or anything, they're better than a mouse for portability. You can't really break out the mouse while on a crowded bus or such.
When I first got into PC gaming, I was using a laptop. NEVER used an external mouse. And I was pretty good with it.
Once I overheard (seen, rather) some people in Garry's Mod badmouthing players who use laptops and don't bother using an external mouse. I chimed in and said "What's wrong with trackpads? I use one..."
They couldn't even muster a word, they were so stunned, because we all had a death match a few minutes before and I was kicking everyone's asses.

Trackpad = handicap mode. If you can win with that, you can win with anything.
Just for kicks, I once tried using Blender with an XBox controller. Sucked balls.

Do you still have the results of that little..........experiment?
Installed webcams with 1 megapixles

Nah, did a system wipe a while back, didn't think it was important enough to save.
Wish I had kept my Rock Band controller to MIDI scripts, though. Managed to set it up to play the notes from Ocarina of Time, and was working on a better system to play a full set.

Call of Duty 4 did this. I found aiming down the sights slowed you down pretty close to the NPC.
On the trackpad subject, fuck Alps. Retard sessions every 20 minutes ahoy.

Someone mentioned laptops that force you to use a Fn key combo to adjust the volume. I'll go one step further: laptops that don't have a volume knob that directly controls the speakers.
If you've ever used a laptop in class, you should know what I'm talking about. You turn your computer on in class and OH SHIT I CAN'T MUTE MY OBNOXIOUS WINDOWS STARTUP SOUND, because your laptop's volume control doesn't actually control the speakers - just the Windows volume.

I just disabled the GNOME login sound on my netbook.

I used to keep a broken speaker cable plugged in. It was really just a cut-off plug. Worked to keep everything quiet.

Same here, but on my main laptop I have a (somewhat badass) custom Shodan logon sound. I love it when I'm on my own, but when I'm in a quiet environment, awwwwkward...

I used to have my login sound set to the Zelda "opening box / YOU GOT A THIIIIING" sound.
And the shutdown sound was the game over sound.
My login sound is still the Sonic 3 & Knuckles title theme... v:v:v
Though that's my desktop, and I'm usually the only one who hears it.
I have a single alert sound on my netbook.
My computer uses a default Windows 7 sound theme because I could care less.

Wait what, there's a default GNOME startup sound?!
I've only heard Ubuntu 8.0.4's annoying drum sound :ohdear:

I could go through terminal, but it's there, so I'll use the GUI.
One thing that mac has over pc imo is the scrolling. I like how mac is smooth, while windows is in intervals.
My laptop doesn't play sound until I run `startx`. Plenty of time to open alsamixer and mute the sound. :smugdog:

Or if they're just faster than your walking speed and leave you in the dust, but just slower than your running speed so you run into them.

Well, I would just say PCs are inconvenient in this area. You can have smooth scrolling, but you have to install things like Firefox plugins and the like.
Making Snipers one hit kill. Making snipers in the game at all. They RUIN all multiplayer games. Why doesnt any game dev understand that snipers dont have to be in the game.
Sorry if late.
snipers are good only when I use them
