Someone mentioned laptops that force you to use a Fn key combo to adjust the volume. I'll go one step further: laptops that don't have a volume knob that directly controls the speakers. If you've ever used a laptop in class, you should know what I'm talking about. You turn your computer on in class and OH SHIT I CAN'T MUTE MY OBNOXIOUS WINDOWS STARTUP SOUND, because your laptop's volume control doesn't actually control the speakers - just the Windows volume.
Disable windows sounds.
"ergonomic" keyboards. They're are awkard to me.
Making Snipers one hit kill. Making snipers in the game at all. They RUIN all multiplayer games. Why doesnt any game dev understand that snipers dont have to be in the game. Sorry if late.
The reason I see it that snipers and campers are so effective in twitch shooters/ run n' guns is because unlike in reality, taking your time to scan the environment, cover it with multiple people, and clear rooms through systematic and stategic sweeping is for the most part unecessary, that is until they catch you by surprise like a brick to the head.
My old case had USB ports so close to each other that you could only fit 1 memory card in them at a time. Meaning I had to take out my mouse everytime. Also probably late for this but fucking alt+tabbing out of fullscreen Source games.
One thing that mac has over pc imo is the scrolling. I like how mac is smooth, while windows is in intervals.
It depends on the mouse not the OS. I returned the MX 518 because of the annoying interval scroll. (this is apparently the best mouse ever)
Snipers where very fun and balanced in cod 1 and 2. BC2 and cod mw2 or higher fucked it though.
UT2k4 had the best sniping, It didn't have any of that unstable, shaking crap. It had no "Realism" it was just pure fun.
I dunno. The BC2 sniping was pretty decent compared to CoD4 or higher. It took some effort for extreme ranges. And if a sniper was pissing you off from across the map you could essentially fight back with a pistol, even if it barely hurts them :v:
How can you guys PREFER smooth scrolling? Unless you're not a gamer, it's really annoying, even then I'd prefer a clicky scroll. If windows properly supported smooth scrolling it wouldn't be so annoying, yet most MS mice come with it, I don't understand.

press MIDDLE MOUSE and move the mouse down.

There were two NPCs at the top of the steps as well, and I couldn't jump over the railing.
Mounting heatsinks for AMD brackets. The horrible feeling of resistance when installing a CPU and closing the holder.
This! I thought I was going to break it. (First time building a pc)
I got a logitech mouse that becomes a flywheel when i turn it hard enough. I Can still do the clicky scroll for most stuff and then zoooooom upwards to the top of the page in seconds. I like it alot.
When I first got into PC gaming, I was using a laptop. NEVER used an external mouse. And I was pretty good with it. Once I overheard (seen, rather) some people in Garry's Mod badmouthing players who use laptops and don't bother using an external mouse. I chimed in and said "What's wrong with trackpads? I use one..." They couldn't even muster a word, they were so stunned, because we all had a death match a few minutes before and I was kicking everyone's asses.
One word...clit mouse :q: ...oh wait...that was two. The dirty phrase still stands!
Abnormally wide headphone/mic connector casing. The cables from my surround speakers and mic just barely fits in down there. Also, audio jacks without color codes. Might not seem that hard to memorise the order but it's fucking annoying when you reach behind your case to plug shit in.

Tiny carving are invisible when you want to plug something in the case below your desk.
Yeah and you can hardly see them anyway

I dont even know what most ports on mine does
My HT Omega Clario+ has them color coded with the engravings colored in :smug: Shame the design of the PCI slots in the case cover up the engravings :froggonk:
Back on the subject of bad design... The new packaging for Oreos. The pull tab is a good idea, but trying to get it open is hell. And then when you get it open and eat all the cookies from the center column, the ones on the side are a pain to get out sometimes because the packaging is half covering it up. [editline]23rd March 2011[/editline] I know this is more for assy design moves on electronics and the like, but meh.
I have two audio ports on the front of my case, both unmarked, and still havn't memorized :(
Why do cases have a space for a firewire port, but then don't wire them up? Either wire them up or don't cut a space for them in the first place.
It depends on the mouse not the OS. I returned the MX 518 because of the annoying interval scroll. (this is apparently the best mouse ever)
No smooth scrolling depends on the application. Firefox lets you turn it on. Smooth scrolling sucks because you will always overshoot and mice without the notches in the scroll are shit for games where you do anything with the scroll wheel.
This was so bad, by the way, that I needed to reload my previous save. Now I feel like playing STALKER again.
Government websites are universally terrible in design. I try find something on the Canadian government website and fail completely. It's as if they fired everyone working on the website at the end of each year and brought in new people who implemented a different method of search and layout. It's a mess of broken links, random wormholes to the mid 90s and jumping across the hundreds of subdomains. Hell, it's such a mess that they had to implement an Archive page that uses the same tech as the Way Back Machine, but only on their website. With all the millions of dollars spent on improving the country's infrastructure, give a few to an independent firm to use an existing CMS and port everything over. Someone let me know that the Ontario G1/G2 drivers handbook was on their website, though didn't know the link. Well, after a good hour of searching, I finally found the bastard, though not the version I was looking for (Only had the really basic stuff).

laptop nipple, so underrated. Some were amazing, others ran my finger raw just because they were so god awful
