I actually like the standard layout a bit better IMO.

It doesn't matter. Who the hell uses that part of the keyboard very often anyway?

I do, and I hate when they remove insert and replace it with a huge delete button
iTunes has the worst method of adding content to your PMP known to man. It's slow as shit, bloated as fuck and likes to establish labyrinthine directory structures all across your hard dive filled with useless shit, being bout as compact as a fat man on an aeroplane. It peddles apple software constantly, when that software is utterly redundant and obsolete compared to free alternatives. It readily deletes songs and apps from your iDevice without a moment's thought, and if you don't have a copy of those apps? Tough, you can't redownload it without buying it again. iTunes is Apple's greatest achievement, something which actively enforces their proprietary bullshit so no matter where you are, whenever you want to buy apps or music from someone you're giving money to them.

Y'know what's functional? I double click an MP3, and it opens in media player classic/wmp/vlc and starts plying immediately.
Y'know what's functional? I plug a non-apple device into my PC, drag and drop some files onto it and open/play them with the device.
Apple are masters at getting people to jump through hoops for their benefit. It's a horrible user experience and yet seems to be a pillar of their philosophy. Such a shame because the devices themselves are lovely and the OS is slick, just that Apple's desktop programming team obviously has no idea what they're doing.
Y'know what's functional? I plug a non-apple device into my PC, open iTunes, drag and drop some files and play them with the device. Holy shit!
It's a little slow to start but otherwise it's fine. It's bloated but I got 3TB(2x1.5TB) of HDD space for £80. It keeps my music library organised and in one folder contrary to what you say(H:\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music. All music is kept in this folder, organised properly. Apps? H:\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications) It has never deleted anything without asking me and when it does it makes it perfectly clear what and why it is deleting and whether or not you want to actually delete it. (For example if you plug someone else's iPod into your computer it will ask you if you want to wipe it and sync your library with it)
iTunes gets too much flack. It used to be utter garbage but since early 2010 it has been fine. I like the fact all of my music is organised, I like the fact I can instantly search through my entire album(Try doing that with MPC and Explorer's search). The only thing I don't really like is there is no queue, not even the quick playlist thing like iOS.

I actually use it constantly. Delete for obvious reasons, and pgup/pgdn/end/home is amazing for editing text files.

I shouldn't have to launch a proprietary fucking application just to put songs on my fucking iPod. Though I guess that's asking too much of Apple, masters of proprietary shit.

Me too. I have 2 1.5tb drives in RAID, but also a 60GB SSD, which fills up fast if you're not careful. iTunes puts a crapload of shit all over the SSD which every other program generally has the ethic to put it on the RAID array.

The shift key is way too small. That drove me insane when I had my old netbook.

Agreed. I find myself using those keys extensively when I'm SSHed into my server. For example: If I type out a command and forgot to type sudo, all I have to do is press the home key. Otherwise, I would be holding down the left arrow, which is slow and inefficient.

Last time I checked, Winamp and a bunch of others could sync your music with an iPod.

How often do you sync your iPod? Once a week? Less? Unless you're doing a full sync which only happens when you first use the iPod or when you wipe it, it takes a few minutes at most. If you're doing that by hand you have to find and copy each new album/track by hand. It's much more convenient to plug in your iPod and have it automatically put new music onto it while you go read reddit or something.

I use Winamp with wireless syncing.
Does pretty good 99% of the time, but all the kinks aren't worked out.
Like there is always that ONE random song that doesn't decide to copy over (and it is a known bug) and decides to hang Winamp.

Oh wow, you get shafted so bad when changing directories in any OS.
In Linux you'll have to completely take up the right hand when you need to type / and in Windows, the left hand when you need \
I have to admit, FI/SWE keyboard gets shafted for Windows since you need to do Alt Gr + +, but eh.

/ works too. At least in 7 it does.
Those plastic packages that are impossible to open
Programs in which the close and minimise buttons do the exact same thing. If I click the fucking close button I want you to close, if I wanted you to minimise I'd press the minimise button. Spotify doesn't even close to the tray, it just minimises.

I just use \ for Windows and / on the numpad for unix-like, I rarely use the / near shift because it's so inconvenient.

FAT32?
wow.
My U3 was NTFS. Perhaps I reformatted somewhere along the lines and don't remember.
Also, I hate laptops without physical buttons to turn-off the touchpad. It gets particularly annoying when typing for long tracts of time.
The mother fucking windows key

Get a real keyboard with a switch to turn it off.
Or use that registry edit.
I like how Microsoft got their own key on every fucking keyboard
It should be Tux on there :arghfist::frown:
It should just fucking say "Super" on it.
Edit:
What's funny about it? It's the goddamn super key.

Woah, it also has hyper & meta keys
Thought I'd bring up a minor annoyance I just noticed:
How iTunes requires the Album Artist to be the same in each song of an album to recognize them as the same album. I had an album with two mp3s that had the album artist blank, while the other 16 songs had it right. It pulled those two songs out of the order of the album and put them after it, as if they were part of their own Album.
iTunes annoys the shit outta me, no I don't want to break my phone with an update or waste my time updating a shitty media player.
iTunes starts slower then elephant shit for me. :v:
Skype coming to attention when anything happens (Somebody leaves, enters your call), kicking you out of the game you're playing.

I don't have that problem. And I'm frequently in multi-person calls...
Why does everyone else have problems I don't have, but when I DO have a problem, it's a problem almost little to no one else has??
