I thought this would be a problem when I was playing F.E.A.R, though it's not really that bad. You can still have your fingers comfortably on the WASD keys, yet your pinky finger can rest on shift and control.

HDMI wasn't around when these were in major usage. So yeah, your post was kind of pointless. Scart is a annoying adapter, but it is very useful. Such a shame none of the TVs in this house seems to actually want to take the adapter without sound like something will snap.

I usually rebind crouch to shift anyway so it doesn't matter
the worst design move is to make so that you can't rebind keys :argh:

But on some TVs and VCR's, they put the GODDAMN plastic casing extremely close to the jack, so if you hand anything larger than a 8 year old's, its a total pain in the ass to get your fingers in there.

Not to mention how the plug has two parts (The plug and the part that has the screw thingie and twists) and most of the time it feels like someone squeezed a blob of rubber between them because it just won't twist.

Ew, no. I prefer Ctrl because then my pinky can switch between Ctrl and Shift for crouching and sprinting. If crouch is C, you need to use your index finger or thumb to press it, and those fingers have more important jobs...
Crouch jumping while running isn't hard. As soon as you press Space you can switch from Shift to Ctrl.

That used to happen to me all the time! Then I realized that I can just open the drawer next to my chair and use that to keep the extra cable off the floor. Works like a charm.

On most keyboards, you can easily press Ctrl and Shift at the same time with one finger, and it's relatively easy to slide between them.
One of the many reasons I use a mouse button to go forward: I don't have to worry about where my other hand is positioned :smug:

That's pretty much a personal preference, imagine if the jack went bad? Solering a new jack on would pretty much suck.
