Laptops that do the opposite, that require you to hold down the Fn key to use the F1-12 buttons. This might not be annoying until you start using software/play games that require those. :colbert:
Mine did that but luckily I was able to change it in the BIOS.
It's fine if they give you the choice.

It's nice how if you put Windows on a Mac, the Boot Camp utilities let you change that while the computer is working, no having to go to BIOS or anything.

I'm sure Windows and/or Linux can do this if you find the right button to push.
If not then "oh waah I have to press a button while it's booting up"
AMD's 5000 series and how many adapters you had to get to run Eyefinity.
Yes.. you have to step down from 120-240vac to a much lower DC voltage. Switched mode supplies are much smaller and cooler.
Well is it at all possible for that big thing to be placed somewhere else on the cord? Right on the plug is so annoying.

Not enough of them do however.
My psp 1000 does that and I love Sony for doing it like that, though I curse them for making a adaptor twice as wide as the plug for my W300 Sony Ericsson.

Superior to those stupid bricks, I can actually put 2 next to each fucking other in a power board.
And if the wall-transformer cable breaks?
Don't worry, they're a standard cable that you can get near anywhere
But somehow a lot of companies (coughdell) manages to make a proprietary version of those too
Please excuse me as I go kill myself
Care to tell me what is wrong?
I really hope to god laptop companies are making money off the stupid bloatware that every notebook comes saddled with these days. If they're legitimately doing it to get users it's my cry :'(
Windows 7 volume mixer, EVERYTHING about it, it was a good idea with a fucking horrible implemention, things keep resetting to 0 volume, and sometimes when you try to adjust the volume it bumps it up with 20 fucking precent in an attempt to blow my fucking ears out
I have no problems with it
DVI still being the dominant connectors on video cards over HDMI. :/
I have no problems with it
Open it up and accidently click above the "button" off the slider
It goes up to 25%

DVI can do both digital and analog
HDMI can't.
So in theory you'd need both a VGA connector and a HDMI connector to replace DVI.
And don't even start on the age of VGA, since it's still a perfectly fine standard for average Joe computer equipment.

See, the problem here is "accidentally"
Not the volume mixer itself

Problem is that it bumps the volume up to 25% if you miss the fucking button
Any fuel left in an aircraft after flight can't be used again, it has to be discarded or sold off, if an aircraft takes off it can't land back down straight away because the weight of the fuel would wreck the aircraft.
problem is that you need a scope.

so you can click your target.

I've never missed the slider buttons, even with my laptops discount touchpad.
Can you post a picture of this mixer so the lazy posters [sp]me[/sp] can see what you are talking about.

Does display port support 120Hz?
minidp would work better as a standard I think.
Why?
DVI is still decent, considering it's more than a decade old.

It's a bit like comparing Windows 98 SE to Windows 7.

Wow I don't think the problem is the volume slider if an increase of 20% is 'an attempt to blow my fucking ears out'.
I use it, it works fine.

Different sound cards output at different volumes, as well as headphones having completely different impedances, so a 20% increase can definitely hurt your hears, but if you're having that much difficulty clicking the button, you have other problems. I too dislike the new Windows volume stack, I much preferred the one where you could adjust wave volume, which would act as a maximum volume limit.

That's not a designer dick move, that's just inherent to the design, not something that is easily fixable...
My friend found out that, if he yells into his desktop, it actually has a microphone somewhere inside of it.
Windows Media Video? Yeah right.
I've used WMV11 as my primary way for rendering videos in Sony Vegas, never had one problem with quality issues and file sizes.
