"how do I uncheck box"
Not all programs give the option. Foxit for example, only gives the option for the Ask toolbar, but it's own is included with the install.
links to any articles on those gawker sites just send you to the main page, it's fucking terrible
This. Fucking hashbangs in links make me mad
It'd also have the ignition underneath the steering wheel so its awkward to turn it on and you have to feel around. And it would have to freeze and have a multicoloured circle spinning in your face when your just trying to go to work :'( Also, I hate how Google Chrome tries to autofill my username, and when I keep changing it, it keeps RESETTING IT to the suggestion! I think i know my own usernames -_-
If you're diving that car I'm pretty sure you can afford to feel around for the ignition [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] Also when you click on a google result and the result is a timed link that takes you to the actual website so when you try to get back to the results yo have to spam back until it gets back to the result page.
foxit reader
It was good, now it's almost as bad as Adobe Reader. Sumatra PDF is really fast and has a minimal interface, if you need more functionality PDF-XChange Viewer is my second choice. They both start up near-instantly, even on my netbook. I think SumatraPDF has a browser plugin now, though Chrome already has a good one built in.
I just encountered one really poor design. I'm finally playing the first Dragon Age game (I've got a huge backlog of games I've yet to play). I'd bought the Ultimate edition, since I didn't want to be pestered to buy all the DLC separately. However, the game seems to not realize that I own the DLC. I was putting up with it, until it started pestering me to go buy the DLC I already own. Fucking hell, what is Bioware's problem? Can they not program a simple user account system? I've tried everything and it still won't tell me "yes, you paid for this stuff, and I'll let you use it".

I started DA:Origins up, logged in and went to downloads. Everything was there and installed itself for me.
You must be doing something horribly wrong. I started DA:Origins up, logged in and went to downloads. Everything was there and installed itself for me.
It's not working for me, and I didn't do anything weird. Awakenings is installed and working, but everything else shows up as "installed but unauthorized". Googling shows that others have had this problem, but their fixes don't seem to work for me.
when i installed utorrent for my linux distros it had a damn ask toolbar installer. BUT WHEN I UNCHECKED THE ASK TOOLBAR BOX THE INSTALL BUTTON GRAYED OUT
SumatraPDF this wasn't a joke. :saddowns:
Sumatra is a fantastic PDF reader, though in some cases it can be a little too lightweight. Foxit isn't as fast but is a little more full featured. Oh, but according to benjgvps Foxit sucks. To be honest, I haven't used Foxit since I discovered Sumatra. I use Sumatra for everything if possible, and I keep Adobe Reader around just in case there's some crazy PDF that Sumatra doesn't handle correctly.
For the record, I managed to fix my Dragon Age problem. Turns out the updater service wasn't installed when the game was, necessitating a bit of work to install it.

"Oh so you want to read a pdf? WELL I'M GONNA FLASH THE BRIGHTEST FUCKING YELLOW COLOR YOU'VE EVER SEEN JUST TO PISS YOU OFF. Unless they changed it, I'm using a very old version of it right now :v:
when i installed utorrent for my linux distros it had a damn ask toolbar installer. Got one to add. Progress bars that progress regardless of whether or not anything is going on. I'm reinstalling Crysis and during the initial uninstall it puts up a progress bar that appears to be moving slowly-- but what's actually happening is it's waiting for me to respond to a popup prompt (are you sure you want to allow uninstall.exe to do blah blah blah) that popped up behind everything else so I didn't even see it.
http://kotaku.com/ See this piece of shit? You do, right? Okay, now. Go and click blog view, so it looks like a site that wasn't made by a 13-year-old webdesigner on Dreamweaver. Aight, now click the title of a fucking article. Fucking do it. Come on read that fucking piece of crap. No luck? Try the image. Come on now, don't be shy. All my DLC issues were resolved by manually installing the missing DAupdater service and manually starting it each time I wanted to play the game. The game apparently couldn't install the service itself. That and the Ultimate Edition apparently does not have the major spell casting bug patched like the regular version. The Circle Tower was fucking hell. Also, make sure you have registered the DLC on Bioware's site.

ICQ. After setting itself as default search in all your browsers, setting itself as a default website and installing a toolbar and adding a few icons for some unrelated services onto you desktop, it has the fucking nerve to ask you if you want to add an icon to your desktop.

Yeah, in my picture she jumped on the desk and walked over the keyboard to me. Managed to push the tray under the computer and basically 'fall' onto my lap.
