Start up Just Cause 2, get in game, start walking. [img_thumb]http://gyazo.com/f5098a07a0973beea7438f8dd94d35c7.png[/img_thumb] NO SHIT PERFORMANCE IS LOW, I'M PLAYING A FUCKING GAME!!
I just tell it to disable when you're ingame and go back when you quit
Disregard this man, he must be a troll. [editline]13th April 2011[/editline] Right click the arrow > customise notification icons
what? I wasn't asking a question at all. [editline]13th April 2011[/editline] I can't even figure out what arrow you're talking about
wtf I managed to quote the wrong post I'm dumb
Ugh. Why can't they just make this disappear when it loses focus? It's the only issue I have with MSE's interface.
Right click the arrow > customise notification icons the arrow as in the arrow that expands the tray to reveal the extra icons. or you can right click the clock.
Why not use three list boxes and move buttons instead a clusterfuck of drop-down boxes? Or an array of checkboxes? Why can't I set a default option for new items? Oh, and it wouldn't hurt to not automatically fuck up my settings when you decide that I haven't clicked an icon recently. Also, worth reposting: OH SHIT! Check this out: Microsoft is adding new features to Windows 7's sound recorder! Here's what the new one looks like: Anyone used to the old sound recorder will immediately note the advantages of a new technology Microsoft calls "instant playback from system memory". Microsoft has also added new features, including:
Reverse

Amplify

Speed adjustment

Scope to monitor recorded audio levels in real-time
That last feature is awesome - can't count how many times I've used the old one and have forgotten to turn mute off on my microphone. Here is a screenshot of the old Sound Recorder for reference: You can clearly see the infamous "help" button that was added after millions of angry e-mails complaining of confusing UI design and the deaths of several protesters in the well-covered Bellevue Riots.
Why not use three list boxes and move buttons instead a clusterfuck of drop-down boxes? Or an array of checkboxes?
Am I the only one who just drags icons around on the system tray?
Am I the only one who just drags icons around on the system tray?
:aaa: I didn't know that. That's very helpful, thanks.
Wine for Linux. I swear, it avoids hardware detection like the plague. Speccy doesn't work, usb devices don't work, NOTHING works in Wine...
Most manufacturers give them with the software. Dell and Acer do at least. Retail stores remove them though, they want to to pay them if you want to format. My uncle got a box of Windows 98 CDs they had kept, hundreds of CDs :buddy:
The boxes we get here in the Netherlands are sealed from the manifacturer, we have no way to "remove"the disk in the box but still they arrent there.
Wine for Linux. I swear, it avoids hardware detection like the plague. Speccy doesn't work, usb devices don't work, NOTHING works in Wine...
It's because the Linux drivers aren't going to work with the Windows program you're running. [editline]14th April 2011[/editline]
The boxes we get here in the Netherlands are sealed from the manifacturer, we have no way to "remove"the disk in the box but still they arrent there.
They stopped including all the discs because it'll force people to buy all upgrades from them and have it installed by them. Can you imagine trying to install a bigger harddrive in a computer that has no way to recover it's OS to the new drive? You'll have to clone the old drive, wait what's that? 75% of the market doesn't know what harddrive cloning is? Someone get the money rake!
PC manufacturers not adding an OS installation disc
This, I've seen so many people having severe problems only to find they never made their own installation disk.
The boxes we get here in the Netherlands are sealed from the manifacturer, we have no way to "remove"the disk in the box but still they arrent there.
That's because ze beaver is an idiot and apparently thinks the retail stores are out to get him. Several companies don't include back up discs anymore because it SAVES THEM MONEY. Not because the retail store wants to make you spend more money. Instead of HP printing a million recovery discs, they can just tell their users to do it themselves (which many computers ask the first time you start them up) and that saves them a ton of money.
But what is the customer wants to completely format it?
I'm not sure. I'm not an average user in terms of that since I always have a method of reformatting. I believe Microsoft themselves stated that using an iso of windows is perfectly fine as long as you own a valid CD Key. I have a Windows 7 disk and use that to reformat computers. Usually when people want to reformat their computers and they can't do it themselves they call people that can. I receive phone calls occasionally asking if I can reformat a computer for someone. So I guess they just find ways around it.
Microsoft is totally cool with you downloading the .iso, they released it to the public themselves.
Its not like it really matters. The only way its usable long term is if you have a valid key. Or a crack if you have a peg leg and tropical bird.
Microsoft is totally cool with you downloading the .iso, they released it to the public themselves.
link please, can only find unofficial and shady links
I hate advertisements that look like download buttons/links.
link please, can only find unofficial and shady links
http://www.mydigitallife.info/windows-7-iso-x86-and-x64-official-direct-download-links-ultimate-professional-and-home-premium/ Running on it right now, so even if it was made without permission from Microsoft, which I do not think is the case, it's fine.
This is probably more of a bug than a design decision but anyway, in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood if you reset a mission, the music won't play during that mission again even if you restart the game. It's annoying, since with badass music in the background I tend to do everything stylishly and strut around like a badass but without music I just crossbow everyone
Windows Compatibility Assistant (or such). I can't install some of my old programs because of it. It blocks them and says "* is compatible with Windows 7." Then what is the problem you goddamn piece of shit? And it can't be disabled. Well, it can be, but the fucker starts right up again next time, no matter what. VGA / DVI -ports should be sturdier, the screws suck. Public toilets that cost money and only accept certain coin(s). Really nice surprise when your ass is about to explode and you notice you don't have any coins that work with the device. Electronic devices that just have to leave a bright-as-the-sun led on when you turn them off. Yes, I quite like the blue and red suns illuminating my bedroom. I have to pull the plugs off and they're not in an easy-to-reach place.
what is a paid toilet
Exactly what it sounds like. You need to pay before you can use it. Fortunately, its a rare occurrence where I live.
I'd rather shit in a bush than pay 50 cents to get in to some toilet that looks like it has never been cleaned
I'd rather shit in a bush than pay 50 cents to get in to some toilet that looks like it has never been cleaned
In San Fransisco they have self-cleaning public toilets. After each use it completely rinses the toilet seat and then blow dries it, which additionally makes the seat warm. It was wicked cool when I went out west to visit.
That still doesn't clean walls etc
I suppose that could be a problem depending on how often people smear shit on walls in your area.

In my opinion the best design move for my asshole :3
Avast's "database updated" notice sound. "Ahh, what a nice day for browsing the Internet and listening to
DOONK
FUCK YOU I WAS WEARING HEADPHONES"
In the middle of the night, at around 4 AM, half asleep and scared playing amnesia: dark descent in a dark room, because I was too lazy to turn on the light. I went through a corridor, and opened a door that I suspected a monster I saw earlier to have entered. I turned around and DOONK]. I promptly installed NOD32 after that.

AND that Avast is targeted at the average home user, that likes to be comforted by their antivirus that it has found a update, or blocked some nasty shit.
Pendrives that make you install proprietary bullshit software on your computer.
