My dad has a laptop that doesn't charge at all, it won't turn on if not plugged in. It has magically turned into a semi-portable computer.
My old laptops power supply died, so it won't boot with or without a battery or mains power any more. It's a fairly old laptop anyway that couldn't even run the OS it was designed to run (XP). It struggled to run ubuntu smoothly too. Poor thing.
Here's one: iOS keyboard automatically putting an apostrophe in "it's", even if there shouldn't be one. (Or vice versa) For the most part I fucking love my iPod, but it's little things like this that make me wanna chuck it across the room. I hate it when a piece of software tries to second guess me instead of doing what I tell it too. Likewise with most mobile browsers, where the keyboard gets automatically pulled back down while the page is loading - like when you're trying to enter a captcha, and the keyboard disappears 5+ times because the page is still loading some bullshit adverts. (my iPod just tried to change that one to "adverbs" btw.) I don't mind it when software has features that genuinely make it more helpful, but I hate having to fight poorly designed/implemented software (iOS sometimes included) just to make my machine do what I tell it to.
I just turn it off, I don't make enough (any) mistakes to need it

When using the keyboard, the only thing it autocompletes are "youre" "il" "im" "wer" etc, into the actualy gramatical forms. It's usually leaving out letters and whatnot, but the touch-screen keyboard has a list of autocomplete things, and doesn't auto-select them unless tapped. Damn man, I just realized how fast I am at texting as compared to when I first got a phone.
I moved from a Motorola Razr (Piece of shit) to a LG Xenon with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. I love it. It has a touch screen too, but no on screen keyboard. Only an on screen keypad for dialing. Screen works really well though. ... But I kinda want a phone with Android... But they're so expensive to have with the data plans that cost an arm and a leg for anything decent nowadays! Not to mention that along side calling and texting. Does AT&T even carry Android phones? My parents HATE. HATE!! Verizon so that's a big no-no.
My laptop says it only has 1700 mAh left in the battery pack, out of the total 17000 mAh. That's about half of my cell phone battery's rated capacity is. So its no surprise it only lasts about 20-30 minutes.
I'm jelly. My two year old Compaq Presario CQ60 get's a whopping 3 seconds (if I'm lucky). It also got blistering hot which seems to kill the battery.

Whenever I would use my brother's phone, I want to launch that thing into a wall. It's a terrible resistive touch screen and the keyboard is annoying to use. As silly as my BlackBerry Bold 9000 is, the user experience (Outside of web browsing and apps) is reasonably good.

Alright then, thanks. And yeah, touch screen isn't bad, the edges are a little iffy but everything I've ever used with a touch screen is like that. Seriously. The keyboard is easy to use though despite me having large thumbs, I only hit other keys on rare occasions. Though I do have a tendency to hit the web browser button while trying to hit the "A" key...
eSata and Sata use different physical connectors. Who's bright idea was this?
eSata and Sata use different physical connectors. Who's bright idea was this?
It kinda makes sense. eSATA uses higher voltages than SATA (so you can have cables about twice as long, useful in external applications). Actually, nevermind. I just checked - it only changed the minimum power, not the maximum. Every SATA drive, whether SATA or eSATA, has to be able to handle 600mV of potential. And to make things worse, eSATA and eSATAp use different connectors. Let's just call all any modified SATA a complete clusterfuck and be done with it.

I'm looking at the HTC Aria. It looks really nice, and AT&T has it for free with a minimum data plan and a 2 year contract. Well, it's refurbished, but hey, it has a 90-day warranty so if something's wrong with it I can just get another. Or something. Right?
eSata and Sata use different physical connectors. Who's bright idea was this?
Esata is larger & bulkier but more durable. When SATA was originally conceived they didn't think about using it as a external connector, and they want to keep backwards compatibility for older SATA standards. So it's less of a asshole design move and more of a design dilemma.
(replyin to post about ios keyboard) I just turn it off, I don't make enough (any) mistakes to need it
For me it's automatically turned back on every time I turn my iPod back on :/
For me it's automatically turned back on every time I turn my iPod back on :/
most people don't turn their iPods off. Why do you?
The battery dies? I'm not at home all the time and power outlets are hard to come by elsewhere. [editline]23rd April 2011[/editline] And then it's all like "no I don't care about what you want I'm gonna do my own thing now" :sigh: [editline]23rd April 2011[/editline] Also my old moped. You'd think that older vehicles would be easier to maintain, but that was the only vehicle I've ever come across where the first step in changing an indicator light bulb (on the front cowling) was to take the back wheel off. It takes a sspecial kind of person to come up with shit like that...
thumbscrews, thats what i call them those fucking little tiny screws that hold the side of your pc case on. "Oh wait the side isnt on, push it more. huh, try lifting up the pc. Oh wait try screwing me in now, wait no wrong screw, haha you fucking retard"
My PC case has a simple handle on the side, and if I pull it the side comes off nice and neat. I don't even keep screws on it.
Game developers that dont bother with optimization with the excuse "Computers are fast enough now anyways" Same including when they dont fucking bother making proper formats, resulting in 30 GB of total bullshit of which atleast 10 GB of that could have been avoided

I agree so hard on that optimization thing. Playing mafia 2, something explodes, oh what was that you wanted playable fps too bad HAVE NINE FPS HAHAHAHA. And just saying "ur computre is shitt get a betr 1" doesn't work, I can have up to 10 simultaneous explosions going on in crysis without dipping below 30 fps. -nevermind, the site's back up-

fucking proprietary AMD drivers for linux trying to get me to restart after changing the resolution of my monitor/adding another.
