Shiny, glossy backs/fronts on handheld devices.
As much as I love my Asus 1201T, I want to take a random orbit sander with some high grit paper to the palmrest. It looks absolute shit after being used for an hour.
Not enough cooling in routers. They often can't do what they were designed to do because they have no airflow in the case.
Polarised LEDs. Stock ISP modems. Discs that can get scratched. 1 eared headsets. Puzzle peices that don't go together.
pre micro-usb chargers, good thing i have a dhd with micro usb now! [editline]11th March 2011[/editline] so fucking annoying on dhd [img_thumb]http://cdn5.fonearena.com/desirehd/htc-desire-hd-01_1.jpg[/img_thumb] try holding it landscape without pressing anything
You obviously don't know how to use a phone. I use my Samsung Vibrant in landscape without hitting any of the capacitive keys all the time.

My flatmate has a new HP laptop. But all the keys are shifted one place to the right because of a line of special "H" buttons on the left. So when I type I always end up typing one key to the left of what I want to.

Its about personal preference. If you knew how to handle a phone with capacitive buttons, it wouldn't be an issue for people.
On the Zune the shuffle is pre determined, so it plays the same randoms songs every time :smith:

When I go from this laptop to my other laptop I am always shifted a letter over. When I switch from that laptop to my desktop I am shifted over a letter. Some keyboards may line up, but as far as I have seen, I am usually spending a good 30 seconds to a minute becoming accustomed to the keyboard I am using.

laptop battery life
laptop battery life
Stop buying those overkilled high end laptops and you'll be fine
Hell my overkill i7, 6GB ram, laptop can get 3 Hours of battery life...
Stop buying those overkilled high end laptops and you'll be fine
I don't have a overkill high end laptop, hell it may be an Alienware m11x but most of the time I am not gaming and because of nvidia optimus blah blah I'm usually running intel HD graphics most of the time
Hell my overkill i7, 6GB ram, laptop can get 3 Hours of battery life...
Model? Whats wrong with that? Got it used off of overclock.net and I couldn't be happier
Microsoft's idea of making Windows Live Essentials an important update It took me 20 minutes to realize what was crippling my download speed, it was the updater downloading the 170MB installer for things I don't need
Polarised LEDs.
How can Light Emitting Diode(LED) not be polarized if it's a diode?
I think that goatse has the biggest asshole design, to be honest.
Polarised LEDs.
What... that's how they work. Could reverse bias it and put a lot of voltage through it but that's going to break it.
Lacie External Hard Disk cables being too short (and the drive itself needs a power outlet) I can't even stand it on my desktop tower because the cable isn't long enough to reach the USB port. FUCK YOU LACIE, FUCK. YOU.
What... that's how they work. Could reverse bias it and put a lot of voltage through it but that's going to break it.
You can't honestly believe I was being serious.
I can't even stand it on my desktop tower because the cable isn't long enough to reach the USB port. FUCK YOU LACIE, FUCK. YOU.
Let me guess, proprietary connector?
Disabling overclocking. I'm looking at you HP, Dell and Compaq :argh:
Their cooling systems can't handle OC, and your warranty is also voided if you do it. So it's there to protect idiots from fucking up their computers, since it's people that wants a computer that just works that'll buy prebuilts from those major brands.
Modems with blinking lights Who the fuck thought about this? It's blinking at least twice a second when I'm downloading something :argh:
Dunno about you, but I think they're handy at diagnosing a potential connection problem.
You can't honestly believe I was being serious.
Well this IS a serious thread, so go figure :allears:
SO WHY IS IT STILL THERE?
To open the start menu without a mouse
Oh god that is the most horrible place you could put them I'd be hitting those things so often I'd have pried them out within a few hours
I like the windows key where it is. Especially since vista with the search thing. Need to open virtualbox? Windows key, "virtual", enter, done. Okay the lenght of the word depends on how many different similarly named programs you have, but for me it's a great thing. But what I would agree with is the single key height enter on localized keyboard we have around here. It's pissing me off.
These 3 buttons.
My dad had an old computer, from the late 80's or so.. It, like that keyboard, had a turbo button.. Why wouldn't you want it on? Why wouldn't you want your slow ass computer to be as fast as it can?
[img_thumb]http://assets.lifehack.org/wp-content/files/2007/05/20070529-windowskey-f1.jpg[/img_thumb] This little fucker. This small and annoying little fucker Go to duck in a game, oh fuck I accidentally pressed the windows key BAM the game crashed. It just pisses you off so much in games. What is it's purpose, alt and tab does roughly the same thing, it serves no proper purpose SO WHY IS IT STILL THERE?
Windows key + R -> Run command in one keystroke, fucking useful
Windows key + R -> Run command in one keystroke, fucking useful
Gotta agree. Also, your avatar is mesmerizing.
