I think he's pointing out that Apple doesn't support their products for as long time. And no, you can't say the same with BF3 for XP. XP is 10 years old and BF3 is not made by Microsoft.
Eh, you're right. You still don't have to "buy a new computer" like the article says though
You could say the same thing about Battlefield 3 not being for XP.
What
There's quite a lot of difference between a game and an operating system
[editline]24th May 2011[/editline]
not to mention what you described would be forwards compatibility for the operating system
my 2nd gen ipod touch is basically worthless because you are forced to install the newest version of the operating system if you don't want to use the antiquated, useless version that it comes with (2.1). 4.0+ has severe performance problems on older devices.
if i didn't jailbreak it, remove half of the background processes, and continually wipe the active memory while in use, the thing wouldn't work. i have to micromanage the wifi/active proceses or otherwise it would crash and pull a hard reset (which takes like 5 minutes and it still does anyways)
and yet, on 3.1 it ran butter smooth. Perfectly fine. I only had to update because my old one broke and apple gave me a brand new one
fucking apple and their non-open-ended products that cant easily be updated and not break (like windows)
http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2011/may/21/apple-upgrades-itunes-version
typical apple
Things like this make me wish more and more that Apple went down on 9/11 and not the WTC.
If we're lucky, 'Crapple', as one of the loyal macfags put it on that article will be knocked down a notch, and jobbs will think about his customers instead of shoveling out new shit every couple of months.
[editline]23rd May 2011[/editline]
If more games natively supported linux, and it was available in stores (charging only for the disk of course) i think we could see a march of the penguins as more and more people switch to linux. I know i would if more games ran natively on it (wine fucking sucks)

He *may* be running a powerpc mac, which snow leopard dropped support for (understandable, I have no real problems with this). That doesn't mean apple's legacy support isn't appalling though, nor that charging £100 for a glorified service pack is justifiable.

macfag in disguise.
macfag in disguise.
that would be hard considering I've never owned a mac
and even if I did it doesn't make your post as terrible
Fucking hell, my old 30 gb iPod is almost unreadable from dead pixels, and now I have to get a mac?
I really hope I misread the article, or find an equally useful media player that doesn't die in an hour, and has the space for 45ish books/~24 days worth of audio
Things like this make me wish more and more that Apple went down on 9/11 and not the WTC.
This is just bad.
nothing is perfect... Unless you build it yourself, but then you have to know what you want. i own a mac, and use Dell's everyday. i have run using Mac OsX, Ubuntu, windows(everything since 95), linux. they all have a problem if you look for one

not really a "design move" but when cords have been tangled/in a loop for a while so when you try to straighten them out they go back to being tangled/looped
so fucking annoying

Honestly I don't think making games more available on it would do much, especially from apple users, who most likely aren't gamers anyway. And why is steam supported on macs but not Linux anyway?

Also, my derogatory word for Apple is fApple
Just throwin' that out there.
Not really a design move but this is just an asshole move in general. Applying for a job and you see this on the application:

Pick 'disability'.
When asked, say 'the disability of being white' and laugh all the way home (read: to the unemployment line).

How is his opinion retarded? It's certainly valid and by far fucking humane.
"DURR, STEVE JOBS MAKE CRAP COMPUTERS! CRASH PLANE INTO HIM!"
No, my good sir. Your opinion is retarded and inhumane.

It's called sarcasm. Read it from the end to the start and you'll get what it really means.
