That's why rooting is awesome. None of the bullshit!
Oh believe me, I rooted a few days after I got it.
Windows 8
I'd kill for a keyboard with media keys though :smith:
Why bother when most of those keyboards have horrible side-effects - pushing volume up/down can trigger random keypresses; even in Counter-Strike 1.6.
Use AutoHotkey or AutoIt and do this:
#q::Volume_Up
#a::Volume_Down
This maps LWIN+Q to volume up, LWIN+A to volume down. Works in most fullscreen games, too.
Do this now: Start with your left hand on the home row. Move your left thumb to the left Windows key. Your middle finger will align naturally to the Q and A keys.
Also, find the asshole design move:
Keyboards whose media keys falsely trigger random keypresses when used in popular video games?
Or, popular video games that trigger random keypresses when a media key is used?
The Droid X comes with some shitty preinstalled apps that you can't remove without mods, such as Madden NFL 2011 and some other apps that you can't even use without paying extra for!
Root it and clear out your /data/app folder. Or get a custom ROM.

The power button on my case is on the top. I have two cats.
Using my Razer Blackwidow.. lovely keyboard.. but why oh why did Razer decide to construct it out of piano black plastic! I wash my hands before I touch my computer but it's still dusty, and nasty and shows up every little thing on it.
Keyboards that have stuff like power buttons and shit need to have a plastic lid that you flip open, kinda like in movies where they put big red button under. But a small flat lid, not a big box style lid.

Fuck that, I want a big SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING!! button where you'd need to unlock the lid with a key.

Except it's a USB hub and the button only makes a sound. It'd be better if it worked as a SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING button, or if it were programmable. :v:

Gut a USB keyboard, take the circuit board and wire up the power button up to the big red one.
Really? I think there brilliant with the media controls, very handy, and comfortable.
These don't have that shit and they have double high keys for everything between the ctrl keys.

Or wire it up to a relay and make it so it turns EVERYTHING off.

I would SO wire that as my PC's power switch.

Or, popular video games that trigger random keypresses when a media key is used?
Hm, well apparently mine doesn't.
I tried mapping the volume up key to a control in CS:S, apparently its the letter B. Volume up is the letter C. And Mute is interpreted a D.
:wtc: How does this work?
Yeah, can't you just use a normal micro b on the left side, too?
Yeah, that's actually good to know. I just tried it with the cable that came with my Droid and it works.

Mine has Power, Sleep, and Wake.
I pried them off with a butter knife.
Mine also has Power, Sleep and Wake.
I turned them off in the control panel.

FUCKING RapidShare, why do people even use it? NO, I DON'T WANNA PAY TO DOWNLOAD A FUCKING FILE. Goddamnit, now I have to wait 20 minutes

I'm guessing bandwidth is more expensive then what they could possibly make on ads.

I'm not sure if this is an asshole design move, but getting told by APB that my account info is invalid when really they're upgrading the servers makes me want to set orphanages on fire.
