Oh k, so how does the cheapest XFX 6870 sound? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150561
Sounds good!
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=21540907 Here it is! By the way, is there anyway to decrease the total cost? by like $35? I don't wanna wait like 3 more weeks to buy BF3 ( wanted to preorder it from IntKeys) [ Is that site even legit? cause my friend says its a good site... but the WOT plugin ( something that keeps track of dirty/infectious sites and notifies me) says different..
I'm sticking with this monitor: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6416892&CatId=2775# Totals to about $1076.89.
my arch. teacher is more computer-sided, than the traditional pencil and paper drawings.. so I might have to work on those projects at home..
Mr. Krum is gone?
yea. Mr. Frausto took over :D Such an awesome teacher. doesn't care about phones, 2nd yr students are more like TAs than students xD we help clean up more than we work lol.
It'd be ideal if I can fraps most games at above 60 FPS with minimum lag. Thanks :D
Better get two HDDs.
Was thinking of getting a spinpoint f3 and a SSD later on...
and I'll probs get the SSD before I buy BF3 ( kinda stupid to download a game, wipe the partition and reinstall everything onto the SSD and redownload a game to the HDD again)

Just use the solid state as the main hard drive and use the second for recording and storage.

Which solid state are you looking at, I'm sure you'll need more space than 50GB so it's really going to cost you.
lol.. I have a 500GB HDD on my laptop and I'm only using around 9 GB if you include all the movies I have. I might get a 64GB SSD to be on the safe side. a 1TB F3 is enough for me... that HDD is overkill in terms of price. Not everyone is rich like you lmao.
Why do you have downloaded movies? Where did you get them?
Ok, so you're only going to play that new CoD and BF3?..
Yeah, sorry. I was thinking since I have a lot of games installed on my PC.. it makes me think everyone else is the same.
Games are usually much larger than movies. We're not talking Combat Arms here. Quality Textures, Quality physics. It's a whole 'nother level.
If you want to Fraps you're going to want two HDD, just get a nice spinpoint and another cheap one for recording to. And you're unlikely to be able to at a stable 60 FPS with this budget, especially in games like BF3. Most people record at 30 FPS afaik, which would take half the disk space, and would look the exact same when uploaded to youtube since 720p only played at 30 FPS (afaik).

Maybe he just won't max out.
Maybe he just won't max out.
lol, Its ideal from what I heard, to be running Windows on a SSD, and then record with fraps to another HDD ideally a spinpoint F3, which is what I plan to get. I've played games all my life with minimum quality, so I probably will get raise the quality mid way, not max it out. I don't wanna spend another 400+ to max out everything with a 60+ FPS whilst recording. IMO that's not worth the money. Btw, there's a HUGE difference in 30 FPS and 60 FPS. If you play a low quality online game like Combat Arms, 30 FPS is laggy. 60 FPS is what everyone wants. It's really apparent when you're using Twixtor ( slow motion plug in thats really HQ). That 30 FPS difference will mean whether you got a good montage or a shitty one.

That made me a little sad.

Why are you telling me all these things I already know.
[editline]22nd September 2011[/editline]
Yeah, I guess it's true. Any quality and performance increase will be marginal.
lol.. hey, not everyone is rich. With my family income, you'll be lucky to even have a computer with an internet faster than ADSL. I don't mind about quality, since I'm more used to minimum quality. ( its less distracting.. if I max it out I'm afraid I might be just staring at the screen over the quality rather than play the game itself lmfao
for this mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130571 does it support crossfire/sli? because that's what I plan to do in the future... ( don't want waste money on a new card, when I can get a duplicate of the 6870 a lot cheaper after a yr or 2.
bump, anyone?
no, but if you go one up, a g43 will
so will this
