is thermal paste a must have???
Yeah.
Lolyes.
Does it come with processors or do you have to pay seperatly, and what exactly does it do?
It is actually pretty hard to get a virus if you have half a brain.
I have been running without a virus scanner for over 3 years now and I have had 3 virusses.
I run Ad-aware, Avg Free and hitman pro once evry few months(and keep them disabled in between)
I have had 2 virusses from torrent's because i was to lazy to scan them
I have had one Virus via msn due to an auto message saying: Hey is it you in this picture:link (Which was stupid of me)
Even if you have a virus it is piss easy to get rid of it. Just beware of keyloggers.

It comes with the processor itself but its better to buy Arctic Silver instead of using the one that comes with the cpu.
Kinda like a cpu fan ;P
Thanks shit

The thermal paste pad stuck to the processor that comes with the CPU is just fine for standard use, but when overclocking you want the best you can get, which actually isn't Arctic Silver anymore.
What is it, because i will overclock...

No. The pre-applied paste is fine.
This is one of the best you can get: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835202006
He doesn't need paste.
Thanks Facepunch.
Going to build it tonight.
So, I will read the manuals and have a friend helping.

Hmm... I was actually recommended the TX-3, Could you link me some sort of comparison?
He doesn't need paste.
I agree. People seem to think that a heatsink does absolutely nothing without paste.
So should i buy it or is there no point??
Hmm... I was actually recommended the TX-3, Could you link me some sort of comparison?
I can't find any - but I know that the TX3 is amongst the best TIM, and is only going to be within about 1C or so of the OCZ, so it isn't going to matter which one.
So should i buy it or is there no point??
There's no point in buying it. The pre-applied paste that came with my CPU keeps it running at a cool 22C.

This stuff will make your computer explode.

Not since IC diamond came out, it is actually made of synthetic diamonds with a heat transfer rate that is easily 5 times higher than silver, and thats why it is simply a lot better. It isn't too expensive either: http://www.heatsinkfactory.com/ic-diamond-7-carat-thermal-compound-15-gram-p-16605.html $7 for a tube
No it's not. The positive/ negative charge that your body holds is released into the chassis which contains negative and positive electrons that attract the positive/negative electrons that you have. Thus releasing your static charge making it safe for you to handle your PC parts.
Now of course you're not going to let off a large charge when you touch the chassis unless you're running around Grandma's shag carpet dressed in a wool suit she knitted for you.
It's more tradition for me than anything. Kinda like when Jewish people kiss the little box by the door before they go inside.
Rather be safe than sorry.
No, you need to touch something grounded, like a radiator, just touching the case wont do shit.
I agree. People seem to think that a heatsink does absolutely nothing without paste.
The paste conducts the heat away from the CPU to the heatsink, w/o paste, there's no point in having the heatsink as no heat will be conducted. What i think he means is that he doesn't need extra paste, as it comes with his CPU or his HSF.

Lol, yes touching the case will work.

Im getting a 3rd party CPU cooler to go with my i5 750, would that come with thermal paste?
Im getting a 3rd party CPU cooler to go with my i5 750, would that come with thermal paste?
Should come pre-applied to the cooler.
Coolio
Should come pre-applied to the cooler.
Maybe, but likely not.
Maybe, but likely not.
It has on all the ones I have bought so far. Even if it doesn't good thermal paste is under $10 so it isn't a big deal.
Lol, yes touching the case will work.
Lol, no it won't. Well not completely.
Im getting a 3rd party CPU cooler to go with my i5 750, would that come with thermal paste?
Probably not.

So after market coolers come with pre-applied paste.
I've never seen a good post from you.

stock cooling comes with thermal paste, usually that's the only time it's preapplied
