Antiviri and Cloud Anti-virus is better than AVG. Both can be found on Filehippo.com.
On the rare occasion I use Windows, I use ThreatFire for antivirus.
Get AVG, i like it its quick :)
From Vista onwards there was little need for anti virus software if you have a decent amount of common sense
I use Microsoft security essentials. If something goes wrong, you can blame microsoft! Seriously though, the best antivirus is pure common sense.

I've seen/heard of some people that took their stand offs out, because they didn't know what they were...
