CF means crossfire right? And if this motherboard is really that bad can someone lead me to a better one? And how do you tell if it supports crossfire good? I found this and it mentions crossfireX: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131672
Wait maybe your friends said 32 nanometer which is AM3+/Bulldozer and yes CF is crossfire
What is exactly crossfire? And can someone lead me to a better motherboard if that one above doesn't work.
Crossfire allows you to use two AMD (ati) GPUs simultaneously, SLI is the Nvidia equivalent http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130275 The 870A-G54 is one of the best AM3 mobos (for a reasonable price). It has been confirmed that some AM3 mobos will be able to use AM3+ processors, but we don't know which ones will work
See, well that ones gonna bump it up another $50 so I gotta go down on the monitor or something... Maybe I can find a temporary one of craigslist... So that motherboard will support crossfire and works with everything else?
You [del]could[/del]should cut down the RAM to 4GB Edit: you dont need 8GB RAM
personally I like the ASRock 870 better http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157198&cm_re=asrock_870-_-13-157-198-_-Product it's cheaper and has 8x slots
Does it support crossfire? And Ill cut down on RAM(I just like a lot because I'm sort of traumatized by all the crashes I get from not having enough RAM on this computer (2gb), if I do for some reason need more I can always buy more. Ill use the motherboard acid suggested for now... What RAM thing should I get? Idk the difference between the first two on this page: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=g.skill+value+series+4gb+240-pin+ddr3+sdram+ddr3+1

really it's up to you MSI has a 3 year warranty on their boards so maybe that appeals to you
Well, I know absolutely nothing about motherboards so I have no clue which one is better... @acidcj why would I get 2 RAM sticks when I could just get 1 4GB?
Dual channel RAM is much better than single channel in terms of performance.
Oh, ok then so do you think 6 would be a good amount because I just don't feel all that comfortable with 4.
You honestly shouldn't ever need more than 4GB, we're a way off from needing much more.
Oh, ok then so do you think 6 would be a good amount because I just don't feel all that comfortable with 4.
4GB is all you will ever really need for gaming. 8GB+ is only really for people who do heavy multitasking/video editing.
saved $170 plus I got much higher quality components, like a Spinpoint F3. If you went and got the cheapest stuff available I'm sure you could get much lower. Now I'll work on the $800 build.
Wow, that's a really good build for 630$, I've almost spent 1000$ on my PC and here's what I got: - Core 2 Duo @ 2.8ghz - 4GB RAM DDR2 - a simple motherboard - Xfx nvidia GT220 1GB DDR2 - a cool master Nvidia special editon case. - A LG Flatron 18.5 in monitor It has a windows evaluation of 5.1, I can run most games on very high, except some really fucking resource sucker games like Crysis and GTA IV. It also runs the whole Adobe CS5 suite really fast. It suits me ok, but I'm trying to get a high-end laptop for my work. And also gaming.
Ok, down to 4... What should I do next? What about this bundling the RAM, Motherboard, Processor, and HDD together I save $30 but everything is different. Will these work and are they better? http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.644141
Use these combo deals, should save you a little money http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.642011 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.646270
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboB...t=Combo.644141 Would this combo also work? It has different RAM and HDD which I don't think is much different than the other but the motherboard is different so is the motherboard better?
Savings aren't that great (considering you have to lose one of your other combos), and it's a good idea to avoid Seagate hard drives. Mobo could use improvement in that combo as well.
Alright then I'll just stick with your combos.
Oh, I was gonna pass out/jizz but I yeah I did say the limit is $800. And where do you learn all this stuff? Makes me feel really dumb but at school I am the smartest with computers... Oh, and not to be picky but I would like a case with a complex look to it and LED's kinda like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129093 but of course a lot cheaper... Something maybe like this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119196
A lot of the example parts this site has are way outdated, but it teaches you the basics.
A lot of the example parts this site has are way outdated, but it teaches you the basics. http://pcityourself.com
Thanks that was the second thing I was most worried about thinking I would fuck something up or break it and totally screw the whole computer beyond repair. Two more things I am worried about is the heatsink and compatibility. Will I need a heatsink and if I don't do I have to worry at all about overheating? And are you guys 100% sure the processor is compatible with the motherboard and everything will work?
If you want a guide on building it, this helped me out. http://www.pcityourself.com/
You honestly shouldn't ever need more than 4GB, we're a way off from needing much more.
I don't think it'll be long before we will need more than 4GB, but right now there's no reason.
Alright, well a couple more questions. Will this anti-static wristband work for both wrists or just the one its on and how trustable is it? And I need a couple people to verify that all these parts are compatible with each other and will work fine.
Alright, well a couple more questions. Will this anti-static wristband work for both wrists or just the one its on and how trustable is it? No need for a wristband. If you already have one, it doesn't matter which hand you use
I haven't needed nor used one of those anti-static wristbands yet, so I can't really help you with that. I won't recommend that you buy one to use it with this, as you can discharge yourself by touching the inside of the case anyway.
So I stand on any surface? Carpet, wood, tile and then just touch the inside of the case and then start building?
you should never stand on carpet
