A carpet is not a good idea. And don't wear your favorite wool socks, either.

I've build 3 PC's on my desk, while my foot were on carpet (not wearing socks) and nothing has happened.
I won't wear socks but my whole basement is carpet... Would it help to put on shoes without socks?

I didn't say it would definitely burn and explode just because you build it on a carpet, but the risk is higher.

Just ground yourself everytime you walk around and you will be fine IMHO.

Ehh, better safe than sorry anyway.
But rubber doesn't conduct right? So rubber shoes would be great then?

Which means static electricity will build up until you ground yourself
Do I touch it once or frequently or what?
If you don't feel "safe", just touch the case again.
Ok, and can you guys check and make sure every part is compatible and if I buy it that when I put it together everything will work properly.
Where do you live?

do wooden floors help decrease the chance of having static electricity building up?
Yes, but you should ground yourself anyway.
And don't wear socks.
Ground yourself and try not to touch any other parts than plain PCB.
