I just barely installed xfce and found out how much customization there was; i couldn't help changing it, but the color wasn't well thought out.
Old thread got closed abruptly because of the new post limit. Here's mine:
I usually use Gnome Ubuntu, but I love your choice of KDE.

Installed E17 again. On my laptop. They seem to have changed a couple things since last time I used it. (New analog clock module, different look for the battery module) Using the Detour theme FYI. Might go back to Openbox if I run into any problems, but none so far besides the compositor being a piece of shit. lol, chromium raised my RAM usage about 200mb, christ.
Amazing how many of you guys still use IRC. Apparently I'm wrong thinking its popularity has died down abit.
IRC is a simple chatting program, and it's pretty easy to customize. [editline]20th July 2011[/editline]

Tell me, what version of linux is that? It just looks so smooth and sexy!

I mean it's conky. But with the overall desktop... NO. By the way:
That looks... Horrible...
But it /works/ better than anything I've used so far. Plus it doesn't use more than 80 MB of RAM by itself. At least I'm not using the default Enlightenment theme, that one looks like ass. Besides, horrible would be that blue and orange monstrosity a few posts up.
hey hey hey don't be hitting on me to make yourself look good, besides, does this look a tad better?

I actiually admired the 2000 look.
Very boring...
[thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Screenshot56.png[/thumb] I think it looks pretty simple.
[thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Screenshot56.png[/thumb] I think it looks pretty simple.
.........gaudy buttons, gaudy wallpaper, nope.
[thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Screenshot56.png[/thumb] I think it looks pretty simple.
....... It's the default Unity desktop with a changed wallpaper...
Wow, Unity looks really odd on a 5:4 screen.
Nothing terribly interesting, but I like how it doesn't get in my way.
is it just me or does this link to a thumbnail what am i doing wrong :(
Original post links to the full image. Yours and FPtje's posts link to
http://i.imgur.com/dNM3al.jpg
That bold part makes it a thumbnail, apparently. [editline]25th July 2011[/editline] and now your posts suddenly link to the full versions again :S
That bold part makes it a thumbnail, apparently.
Adding s, m or l at the end of imgur image names makes them into small, medium and large thumbnails respectively. It usually works.
I've been wanting to install arch for awhile now but my netbook doesn't have a cd drive and I don't have any usbs to use.
I've been wanting to install arch for awhile now but my netbook doesn't have a cd drive and I don't have any usbs to use.
You could make a tiny partition (1-2GB) with a partition program, then act as if it was a USB drive, and boot from it.
Using GRUB2 it's pretty easy to boot an ISO file. You have to make a menu entry for it and voila. It's possible with many distros, but I don't know about arch. To boot the ISO you need a special argument in the kernel line that points to the ISO. Not all distros have it. It seems like arch has support for it now: (or soon) http://projects.archlinux.org/archiso.git/commit/?id=06a8c66eaec5d1bace2ddefc2220c172d81eb2ff
I hate that unity sidebar so much, made it hide unless I put my cursor over to the top left.
I installed Xubuntu just so I could edit LCD/PixelHeart/Rizzo's conky to my liking... but now I can't decide which config to stick with. Which is more appealing?
