Not a fan of the wallpaper or the weird windows, but the conky set up and the docky set up are nice as hell.
Not a fan of the wallpaper or the weird windows, but the conky set up and the docky set up are nice as hell.
Docky theme is one of the default ones, HUD with the 3D background option. Conky is conky_grey and it needs the conky complete package or whatever one integrates Lua.
I've still got loads left to do, but this is my progress with fvwm so far. An example of one of the many things I still need to do is make the FVWM button at the bottom actually do something. [t]http://i.imgur.com/R896M.png[/t]
your desktop looks like it came right out of 2002
and unity/gnome3 look like they came right out of 2011.
and unity/gnome3 look like they came right out of 2011.
Well actually they do. Especially unity.
On Fedora 15 until I can get Arch running on my new laptop.
On Fedora 15 until I can get Arch running on my new laptop.
God I love Gnome 3. Gnome 2 is still better in my opinion, but Gnome 3 is just beautifully done.
On Fedora 15 until I can get Arch running on my new laptop.
Do the people that rated you Artistic know that all you did was change the wallpaper? Everything else is default GNOME 3. Just saying. :v: I agree though, Gnome 3 is elegantly done. Wish it was more customizable out of the box though. Really silly that you have to download separate programs just to change the goddamn theme. But once you do you can make it look real nice. Here's my own Fedora 15. I'm using a custom Steam Gnome Shell skin I found on Deviantart. Got a bunch of stuff done with the fvwm config file. It looks a lot better than it did before. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Gd3uH.png[/t]
Do the people that rated you Artistic know that all you did was change the wallpaper?
That will give them a good impression of the customizability.
oh god now it looks like 1998
I must admit i love those 1998-looking skins, especially the orange-blue one a few posts back :v:
That will give them a good impression of the customizability.
That was the biggest turn-off for me about GNOME 3 I still love it though :v:
That will give them a good impression of the customizability.
yum install gnome-tweak-tool gnome-shell-extension-theme-selector
Or rather:
yum install openbox
Because I prefer it anyway.
My boring desktop.

I reckon that would be the best KDE desktop I've ever seen if you replaced the icons in the top right.
I reckon that would be the best KDE desktop I've ever seen if you replaced the icons in the top right.
The parts you can see are default other than I moved the panel to the top and changed the background. :v: [editline]27th August 2011[/editline] I also changed the color scheme, but it's one that is included in KDE. My virtualbox Debian. I'm trying to sample all the major distros as a starting point into linux.
I think I like the KDE desktop other than the mismatched icons.
This one doesn't quite follow my "I make all of my wallpapers" rule, seeing as how my mom took the picture. But I told her exactly where to stand, where to look, what setting to use, how to position the camera, did the post-processing... For those curious, The theme is Faience (link to article where I found it) and no, I haven't bothered to change the default font rendering engine.
I think that's a good place to ski in the winter.
Openbox on my CR48
Finally got Arch working on my X220, back to dwm for me: It's almost identical to how it was before, but some little things are different. Not exactly how I would like it though.
I dunno why but I'm always coming back to Openbox/tint2. I have DWM as an alternate desktop but I never use it. E17's configuration/layout can be nice but nothing matches and the themes for it are all fugly. Been recently playing with Tmux and customizing my PS1 prompt, good fun.
Still very simple. Have to change it some day.
Still very simple. Have to change it some day.
That GNOME 3 theme looks VERY nice. Which is it?
