well then. does speccy report different temps than an OS X temperature utility? it could even be a false alarm
i dont think its a false alarm because if you touch where the hard drive is it feels like you could boil eggs on it
I got an actual compressor, but might a new toothbrush do the trick?
my laptop did that once when I turned it on turns out it was just shitty AMD drivers since a reboot fixed it but it was like all static everywhere and you could barely make out the login prompt
iirc my MacBook died upon reboot. Took to the Apple store where it was declared dead. So I bought an Asus G53SW and never looked back.
Has anyone played Red Faction: Guerrilla and have/had this issue? Things are flashing invisible for me, and it's really annoying. I have nowhere to ask, because there's no thread about this as far as I know.
Then make one?
iirc my MacBook died upon reboot. Took to the Apple store where it was declared dead.
oh I get it, you found the actual MacBook can I buy it off you? :v:
No I mean I found the picture I took moments before my old MacBook's death. I think I sold it to Best Buy through their buy back program, they never tested it and gave me $375 for it.
awwww :C I was gonna fix it up and give it to my sister or something
I'm trying to update my brother's Galaxy Xcover with Kies thanks Samsung [editline]13th March 2013[/editline] If any of you know any Korean please help
Best I could get: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/L3WJQuP.png[/thumb] Theres the problem! The files aren't Wu Grade!
Look at what I found. [t]http://puu.sh/13kNO[/t] rip MacBook 2008 - 2012 [editline]13th March 2013[/editline] I would but I think both Macs are getting replaced soonish. idk
Reminds me of the time I tried to run HL2 on my second laptop. Pentium II + Rage Pro. BSOD after about 10 seconds.
What's funny is that I played and beat the original Crysis on the laptop yet Coll of Duty 2 was the game that killed it.
pshh check out CS:S running on an Intel GMA 945 [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/541762401353648275/E0209588EE32AC13D8D116165E3C57DFD22D93D4/[/t]
Finished rewriting a little tool I made with PHP. My brain hurts, but I actually made something that works, and it's fairly fast too. I'm slightly impressed I managed to do that.
The 9400M wasn't good enough to render the rocks or something, so instead all the rocks were giant oranges stuck in the ground.
Easy way to clean off the dust on the PCB of a GPU, go! [editline]13th March 2013[/editline] Compressed air is not enough.
Lick it.
The 9400M wasn't good enough to render the rocks or something, so instead all the rocks were giant oranges stuck in the ground.
pshhh my old laptop did the same thing in CS:S even [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/541762401353649697/7A856CDDDEABF1845D610D950C3D1DF46C080FB8/[/t] it had trouble running GoldSrc games too
Any sipwicketers want an acer XP home key? The pile of shit had a stuffed CMOS chip.
Best I could get: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/L3WJQuP.png[/thumb] Theres the problem! The files aren't Wu Grade!
Wait, so the issue was download corruption? That makes sense. I just wish it would've told me that in a language I could read.
pshhh my old laptop did the same thing in CS:S even [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/541762401353649697/7A856CDDDEABF1845D610D950C3D1DF46C080FB8/[/t] it had trouble running GoldSrc games too
Did it implode after a while?
Did it implode after a while?
Nah, the display backlight burned out. Not playing games, though. It was just that old. It hated complex geometry. I still have the laptop - Sony Vaio C150P. Real piece of work.
I hope you gave it a proper burial.
It's sitting on top of a folded blanket on a storage shelf in the basement. It still works, just gotta wait a few minutes for the backlight to fire on.
pshhh my old laptop did the same thing in CS:S even [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/541762401353649697/7A856CDDDEABF1845D610D950C3D1DF46C080FB8/[/t] it had trouble running GoldSrc games too
oh wow, i could play GoldSrc games on a EeePC 701 with a 1080p monitor attached.
oh wow, i could play GoldSrc games on a EeePC 701 with a 1080p monitor attached.
Do you still have the 701?
Does anyone know anything about the LITEON LCT-256M3S SSD? There's some on ebay for £106 brand new. Thinking about picking one up for my X220T. [editline]13th March 2013[/editline] just bought one anyway, #yolo
256GB? Probably about the price I'd expect for it. Look up reviews for it/other SSDs they make, should be an indicator of quality.
Do you still have the 701?
gave it to my mom, though she doesn't use it
I wouldn't be using Kies if rooting didn't make updating the firmware via the built-in thing impossible. Seriously, and getting the thing to update even without root takes more than rooting it. It's insane. And I don't want to flash a custom ROM on it it'd probably explode or something
Once you've rooted you can flash stock recovery on it without losing root also I think there's a website somewhere with ODIN-flashable Samsung firmwares
Okay, so i have 2 boards, an ASUS p5n32-SLI premium and a Super micro PDSMI The super micro works, but has 1 bad RAM slot, the PCI/PCIE riser slot is cracked yet still works, only takes pentium 4s and Ds and has no I/O shield. The ASUS doesn't have an I/O shield and won't POST, i think it's the CMOS chip. A while ago, I tried reflashing it with the hot swap method and half the blocks were bad. The chip on the ASUS is a winbound W39V080APZ and the chip on the super micro is an SST 49LF008A From what i've googled, they are both 8 mbit chips. Can i flash the super micro chip with the BIOS for the asus? [editline]13th March 2013[/editline] I don't want to end up cooking the flash and end up with 2 dead boards.
Once you've rooted you can flash stock recovery on it without losing root also I think there's a website somewhere with ODIN-flashable Samsung firmwares
Re-rooting is not an issue since it's literally just boot to recovery mode -> install update from SD card.

My old laptop had one of those. Amazing (for the time) Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB of RAM...fucking GMA 945. The final scene in HL:EP2 was a slideshow, it took a good 15 minutes to get through. Mystery how it didn't crash. TF2 was unplayable, if it even started. CS:S and Gmod worked, but only once you got Vista or 7. XP was a no-go.
