Why can't AMD (and Nvidia) just put Mac-compatible firmware on all their cards? Once you've made one card work in OS X, it really doesn't cost anything to put it on every other card of the same basic design.
They've even done so by accident. The stock 6870 runs fine in OS X, no mods, with just a single flaw - the boot screen.

It's not about what AMD/NV chooses to do, it's a stupid marketing strategy that Apple chose.

As I have said so often before, FUCK APPLE.
Oh cool,
I'm 19.
If I didn't have a car that I'm currently pouring money into, I'd go buy some alcohol.
Benjgvps what city are you from again?

It happens.
No, actually, I can't. The Gamecube had two A/V connectors - one analog (composite, s-video, SCART) and one digital (component, D-terminal). The digital port was removed after the first console revision, and the only cables for it are impossible to find.
$500??? That's fucked.
I regret not buying two of them a few years ago when they showed up in a $2 cable bin. I blame hipsters.
I got a video project due monday, just "rushes" for now. Clips basically.
I had no idea it was A FUCKING WEEK AFTER THE LAST GOD DAMN ONE. Seriously, this class took like 8 weeks to get to how to turn on a fucking camera now we're already to almost the last project. We got two more months.
Anyways in that time I wanted to buy a glidecam and a slider for it. About 1500 bucks worth right there, but I can't even get it by monday. Looks like I'm going to join up with a girl on saturday morning and both shoot some locations just to appease the guy, I plan on scrapping most of it anyways.
Today I have the whole fucking building for myself at work.
Must resist the urge to hook 4 24" monitors on my notebook.
Also, I got degraded from a programmer to a secretary for a whole day.

Do it. Post photos.

the dust is coming from inside the caaaase... At least it won't be near fingers.
I wish I could have found a blower 7950 for my PC. I could only find ones that exhaust everywhere, and I much prefer it when the card exhausts it's heat out of the case like my GTX275 did.
I don't like blower fans, they're loud as hell.
I don't like blower fans, they're loud as hell.
My GTX275 with this cooler:

with a blower was quieter and both idle and max load than my 7950 with this cooler:

XFX usually makes loud/bad coolers to begin with.
[editline]8th March 2013[/editline]
I have this.

It is the loudest thing in my computer and can be heard down the hall, just like my old XFX 6870s but not as bad.
I have a GTX 560 non-Ti like this one and even on load it is dead silent.

I got the XFX card because it was the cheapest, so I'm prepared to take the noise.
And anyway, I'm not too bothered about load noise, I play with headphones in.
I'd much rather have better heat management for a little bit more noise on load anyway.
The PSU fan is louder than the 7950's fans on idle, so it's not like idle noise is a problem.
[editline]8th March 2013[/editline]
The 7950 can be heard downstairs when it's at 100% fan speed.
I have one of those XFX hybrid fan power supplies, I can never tell if the fan is off or on.
One thing I do need to do is replace my top 200mm BitFenix fan, it pushes little no air at the cost of being quiet.
I think my next gpu is going to be one by Asus with the DCU cooler, those things are pretty damn quiet.
[editline]8th March 2013[/editline]
and why would your gpu fan go to 100%? And for my fan it can be heard down the hall at 60% when gaming.
The PSU fan in my Corsair has got a really annoying sound like a dopey bee is trapped in it. It isn't that loud, but once you hear it you can't unhear it really.

I put it to 100% to see how loud it is. It gets to ~80% in intensive games.
[editline]8th March 2013[/editline]
And it's still very loud at 80%
I think if anything I need to replace my motherboard before either getting a new gpu, after selling my current one or getting an after market cooler, is getting a new motherboard because of a horrible coil whine. But I'll deal with it until Haswell.
on a separate note

So I have to go to the post office sorting office to pick up a 99p molex to 6pin adapted because for some reason the seller sent it with signed delivery.
God sake.
I hope that adapter is going into somebodies PC who you don't like.
Its a fire hazard.
I only want it for the Plug :v:
[editline]8th March 2013[/editline]
Cheaper to buy an adapter than a barebones pcie plug.
Did Dell fucking glue screws on the Inspiron 6400?
I can't get the bastard screw out of the modem, fucking hell I just want to repair this thing. It's already stripped to shit.
