do all laptops have shit like that?
The x130e's are amazing for repairing
Remove 3 screws on the bottom, entire base comes off and everything is right in front of you
My Inspiron is a fucking demon, to access ram slot A, you remove the ram panel on the back. To get to slot B, snap the hinge cover off, remove the keyboard, lift a cover
Want to replace the modem? Tear the whole fucker to bits, it's on the bottom of the mobo

A lot of hardcore *nix people do.
so when will we have a controversy about that?

Stallman reminds of a insane non-free software hating person. But he makes some valid points.
In other news, apparently the PS4 will support PhysX, despite not having an Nvidia chip in it.
Bet Sony paid them quite a bit of money to do that. One can only hope AMD card support will make its way to the PC.
I Don't think sony paid them anything, the reason nvidia don't allow AMD card support on pc is so that they can sell more geforce cards.
Supporting a console gpu has no direct effect on their gpu sales, they are obliged to make it work so the unreal engine can do apex stuff, and presumably this results in game ports which heavily utilise the apex stuff which can then only run on nvidia cards, so they sell more cards.
Win win win.

Then you got some bad blowers.
Then you got some bad blowers.
Two 6870s which were known to be loud and two GTX 670s, all loud as hell.
You think you have loud blowers?

I have this.

It is the loudest thing in my computer and can be heard down the hall, just like my old XFX 6870s but not as bad.
I have a GTX 560 non-Ti like this one and even on load it is dead silent.
I have that same 560 and it's the loudest part of my computer and runs hot even though it's right next to a grille in my Bitfenix Prodigy, maybe it doesn't like being vertical...
Two 6870s which were known to be loud and two GTX 670s, all loud as hell.
Your 670's are loud? Are they right next to each other? What kind of load temps do you get? setup a fan profile.
Granted, my cards are designed to be silent, but I setup a profile to where the fan is barely moving until 70c then it starts ramping up to about 40% speed at 75c.
Where did you even get this idea from?
Just googling haswell brings up a bunch of articles saying the CPU performance won't be a huge increase over ivy bridge. It'll use a whole lot less power and have a much better integrated GPU though
[editline]8th March 2013[/editline]
So godsends for laptops, eh for desktop users who are on ivy or sandy
Can I just take a moment and focus on why the youtube player is such an extreme HUGE PIECE OF SHIT it's incredible. Seriously, with every update it gets a tiny bit worse. Since not too long ago, you can't go back in a video without it rebuffering. I mean, what the everliving FUCK? That's a huge waste of server bandwidth, they have seriously fucked something up here.
Remember when the youtube player actually showed how far it had buffered rather than lying and showing it had gone farther than it actually had? That was back in 06-07 iirc.
sometimes youtube gets so slow i need to buffer 240p videos
during that time everything is just fine with all other video sites

I have just one at the moment, had to rma one before because of artifacting.
My current card idles at 35C at 30% fan speedand on load (ArmA 3) it goes up to 71C at 41% fan speed. In games like Guild Wars 2 it will go up to 70% fan speed to keep a 71C max temp.
And all of those fan speeds are very audible so I highly doubt the speed are being reported correctly. I'm using Hardware Monitor for that info, EVGA's Precision X just shows 30% fan speed at all times.
FYI if anybody needs mounting brackets for Cisco equipment, let me know. We're cleaning out our datacenter and we literally have boxes and boxes of them, lots of different kinds. I'll send some to you as long as you cover the cost of shipping.
The fan on this 650Ti is very loud, even at 21% it's not nice.
Hoping to try and get the fan to stop when it's not in use.
I might just invest in aftermarket cooling, no point in dropping money on a card with better cooling/fans regardless on how much I want to.

At around ~6 to ~10pm youtube, facebook, and other sites may as well be dead. I guess most At&t customers get home from work and overflow the route to most popular websites.
The best part about South Florida is that I don't have any other choice than Uverse which goes down monthly and Comcast which is just too much for what you get.
At least when I pull into my neighborhood and see the At&t truck at the local phone line head I know in advance it will be a bad day.
So about that image hosting thing. Wingless why do you think I should do it on my site. It's just for my own images and the people in this thread. I'll probably make a password terabert or something silly.
I don't know where to start with it though.

Well, 6-10 pm in Freedom City, USA, is 9-13 am in Russia, so that can't really be the problem.

Wow..
Yeah, they're pretty tiny if you get a reference card.
note to self: don't get reference cards anymore

Sometimes 720p buffers quicker than 480p, there's something very wrong with their infrastructure. They should spend some time programming the video player from scratch to make it not shit, instead of making new layouts all the time.

:O Neat.
Just because I'm stupid, how is it written. HTML is just code for laying out the site, CSS is like design stuff, I guess that script would be php or something? I know effectively nothing about web dev.
I roll into work
My work PC rebooted
Log in, not a big deal, right?
Google Chrome is straight up missing from the machine. There's not even a directory or registry settings for it. And the machine rebooted because it lost power! What the hell?
