Because installing a game is a constant activity. PS, it doesn't actually "lagg" at all because installers aren't multi threaded. Hell I can run several installers at the same time AND browse the internet! All on an X2 4200+ with 2 monitors! I must have a ~dream machine~

No i fiqured out y. My mainboard has been fucking up. By restarting all by itself, and shit. But it was a Driver problem. I would try a duel monitor. But the DVI adapter i had i lost it. D:
I think i have 1 left. But im not sure....:3
When i bought this machine a triple core was cheaper then a X2 for somereason. Ran good for awhile, starting acting up. Then i installed vista, i lagg a bit in somethings. Runs 1 hell of alot better. Now i can play FSX, surf the web, and be talking on msn all at the same time. I dont even lagg a bit! I have a second machine, but its a p3 800....so it sucks balls. My secondary is basicly my bitch. It runs my game server, home server, downloads files, bunrs movies. My primary i use for gaming.....

I have a Foxconn Mobo that is labeled as a AM2-AM2+, but all I gotta do is download a 300Kb update from their site and I can run AM3s.

In computer land, generally you get what you pay for. Usually preformance is the same for the price regardless of chipset manufacturer. So a dual core AMD cpu costs less then a dual core Intel cpu of the same speed, but the AMD cpu is not as good as the Intel one.

Im the type of guy for power, i do alot of shit that uses alot of power. These i try on a intel duo core, takes 12 hours. I try it on a AMD Phenom X3 64, takes 2 hours.....I like AMD for the power they put out.

See the funny thing is that AMD's architecture is so outdated and so comparatively weak to Intel's latest offerings that they really don't put out any power compared to Intel processors anymore.
I don't understand why you think Intel's processors are inferior to AMD's, but you remind me of the days when K8 was ontop of the world.

Anandtech just put out a benchmark two days ago for the Phenom II X4 965.
For $245 it was right on the i7 920's ass.
And you get the added benefit of cheaper motherboards for AMD. The 965 is a much better bang for the buck than the i7 920. Stop acting like Phenom Is are still all AMD has.
AMD is extremely competitive on the low and mid ends.
Boo hoo, AMD can't compete with the barely faster $1000 i7 975 that nobody actually buys. Apparently AMD sucks now.

Alright I wasn't really taking Phenom IIs into account when saying that, but the OP's claim that a shitty Phenom I triple core can do things 6 times faster than an equivalent Core 2 Duo is so fucking stupid that it clouded my judgment during that post. Yeah, Phenom Is were pretty bad. :v:
Phenom IIs are just barely able to keep up, but they're a huge improvement from Phenom Is.
I was thinking about buying an X3 720 too. :3:
