Yeah, he has an X86 tablet. I'm not sure of an actual solution though. I don't think there was much demand considering Windows' previous lack of touch input.
they are on the left?
Wow. I meant right. Holy shit. I knew I was dumb, but jesus christ.

I'm looking into installing Windows 8, is it much of a boost to windows 7?
I'm looking into installing Windows 8, is it much of a boost to windows 7?
I wouldn't buy it at the current price unless you really just have some money to burn, but in my opinion it's quite the upgrade. The fact that it's gonna be updated for at least a few years is nice as well, it might keep better pace with technology compared to Windows 7.

I love Chrome in Metro mode - swipe from the bottom for fullscreen and swipe from the top for the regular UI. It makes websites much more beautiful. Also, if anybody here has streaming issues with HD video in Chrome on an Atom tablet, type chrome:plugins and disable the Chrome version of flash (pepper). Runs perfectly afterwards.
Ugh, you can't disable desktop composition for specific programs with Windows 8. How can I take a screenshot of a DirectX game? [editline]11th June 2013[/editline] Fixed. I found a way to run GTA 4 in Windows XP compatibility mode, which lets me take screenshots.
Can you guys recommend a decent process killer? Task Manager in 8 keeps whining that "access is denied".
http://technet.microsoft.com/da-dk/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
Did not help, still access denied.
Did not help, still access denied.
Well, I guess it may be something about Windows taking ownership of something. It's annoying shit.
What process is it?
What process is it?
It's the new Xfire client which occasionally freezes shortly after launch.
Having to return my VivoTab because the soundcard is so shit. It doesn't matter what headset or mic I use, the mic always emits a huge BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZSPLTPLSPZLZBZZZZ if I use it whilst its plugged in - making VoIP impossible. Tried reformatting and reinstalling drivers to no avail - so bye Win 8 ;_;

So at teched, microsoft has been trying to get rid of surface and surface pro by selling them at something like 100 and 300 dollars. Either it failed so hard they want to get rid of them or they are refreshing them for 8.1

They d be the best tablets on the market if not for the price
They d be the best tablets on the market if not for the price
Well... and lack of good touch screen apps. And battery life for Surface Pro.
I wonder how Haswell would affect the Pros. If they had a 13" version with the Iris graphics, hell, I'd buy it.
I wonder how Haswell would affect the Pros. If they had a 13" version with the Iris graphics, hell, I'd buy it.
I've been holding off on buying any tablet until I see how the Haswell Pro is. If it's got a good battery life but keeps everything else about it (except maybe size and weight), it's pretty much my dream tablet.
I think a 13" Pro would be great for curling up in your lap and drawing dicks or something. 11" is just too small for a normal computer in any capacity unless you're extremely mobile.
How much hatred that I have filled in for Windows 8. Friends or brothers can touch your screen and annoy the shit out of you. In addition, whenever I do something that fucks up Windows (i.e. freezing up programs, glitching a icon, etc), it turns into a shitfest and everything starts to go into the wrong direction. Icons going invisible, touchscreen cannot work unless you restart the computer to even websites not working like they are suppose to.
Now to the kicker: there is a price to pay for testing the preview code. If you do make the hop to Windows 8.1 before it reaches general availability later in 2013, you will be forced to reinstall your applications. Naturally, your information and accounts will be perserved, but you will need to re-download your chosen apps; you can choose to view this as a forced spring cleaning, but that doesn’t make it any less a chore. Users who wait for what is coming won’t have to reinstall their applications. I’m unsure why preview users will enjoy the privilege, but there you are.
http://thenextweb.com/microsoft/2013/06/05/heres-how-you-will-upgrade-to-the-public-preview-of-windows-8-1/ I guess maybe I'll wait.
