Has anyone on 8.1 Pro not gotten Update 1 yet? I was away from my desktop from start of April until the 25th of May. Updates automatically install and I've checked manually every few days but nothing has came up, just definition updates and the like.
I haven't searched for updates, but it hasn't come up automatically on my desktop either. Set to automatically install updates and has been online for 9 days.

Do you have a turn off button on your start now?
I don't, Microsoft say that's what you should have if running update 1. Oh well, I'll be reformatting in July anyway.
Can anyone recommend the Dell Venue 11 Pro over Microsoft Surface Pro 2? I'm trying to help my cousin out between the two of them.
Can anyone recommend the Dell Venue 11 Pro over Microsoft Surface Pro 2? I'm trying to help my cousin out between the two of them.
Take the Surface Pro 2 it has much better specs than the Dell venue 11 pro
Can anyone recommend the Dell Venue 11 Pro over Microsoft Surface Pro 2? I'm trying to help my cousin out between the two of them.
The Surface Pro 3 is rumoured to be announced very soon. I don't see how given broadwell is delayed. Wait until the May 20th event if you can, it will probably drive prices down anyway. EDIT: To follow up on my 8.1 Update 1 issue with my desktop, today I finally got the update and I have no issues thankfully.
Hey, they updated the store app. It's much much better now.
The rumored Surface Pro 3 is possibly larger and has a whole bunch more SKUs ranging from i3s to i7s. Sauce.
Can anyone recommend the Dell Venue 11 Pro over Microsoft Surface Pro 2? The thing I'm laughing about right now is the jump from the 128gb i5 Surface Pro to the 256gb i5 Surface Pro is $300. Why in the world are the storage premiums higher than the processor premiums? EDIT: Oh, duh, RAM. But still...
Because SSD's are still expensive.
You can get a 256GB SSD for easily $120 USD nowadays. Granted, that's SATA, not eMMC which I believe is what the Surface uses, but the change in form factor doesn't account for nearly 3 times the price.
As Shaun555 already said it's because the 256GB version has 4GB more RAM.
That's still like $100 extra bucks that's unaccounted for. I mean, I guess you gotta turn a profit, but still.
I guess since the device is so crazily compacted that they want to raise the premium as fast they can to recoup costs. And then you have the normal Apple thing where once the manufacturing process is streamlined the cost can be dropped. Not that it will be dropped.
they'll work
What if i have an ssd and most of my programs are on installed on my hdd instead? EDIT: i am now on Windows 8 and everything works!
Anyone know of any custom shells that work for windows 8.1? Besides Classic shell.

100% best. Everything else looks like shitty vomit. Blur on every application, even on preinstalled Windows programs.
-snip wrong thread-
100% best. Everything else looks like shitty vomit. Blur on every application, even on preinstalled Windows programs.
maybe but when using a high res screen like a surface, 100% fucking hurts my eyes
Is there any TLP or Jupiter alternative to semi-magically produce better battery life using Windows? [editline]17th June 2014[/editline] My battery life always seems a tad longer in 'buntu.
